Review: [redacted] and [redacted] dba H & H Construction committed contractor fraud. Our contract stated contractor to supply all labor and materials. Contract also stated all work to be completed when final draw was requested. Contractor requested final payment on last day of service saying he would stay and finish no matter how late it would take and requested final payment. I believed him! I left to do laundry, so did he and they never came back. Then I find out that my metal roof they didn't finish putting on wasn't paid for. The supply company is now going to put a lien on my property because the contractor, [redacted], didn't pay for the materials. To make things worse, I tried to stop payment on final check but was unable to do so. Mr. [redacted] decided to intimidate me and sent me an additional bill of over $4,000 for bogus so called "overages and change orders". I have taken this matter to the sheriff's department. Please beware of these people and do not let them work on your homes!Desired Settlement: Complete refund of last payment $1,682.50. The job was not completed, they damaged my roof and did not pay for the materials. The supply company which delivered my metal roof claims Mr. [redacted] has not paid the invoice and they have the right to put a lien on my home until the invoice of $1,386.79 is paid in full. Mr. [redacted] and his wife also are trying to scam me by sending an additional bill of over $4000.00. A letter from them revoking this bill with an apology would be nice as well.

Response:

My name is [redacted], my wife's name is [redacted] and we are the owners and operators of H & H Construction. We were previously in court with a former client of ours, [redacted] due to her nonpayment of overages and change orders on her contract that she signed. Ms. [redacted] was aware of these overages/change orders and refused to pay us for the work we did. We were in the Washington County Circuit Court, in Salem, IN on September 3rd, 2014 with the Defendant Ms. [redacted] and the judge, [redacted] W. [redacted]. We won the case and Ms. [redacted] was ordered to pay us $1,500 for the averages that were on the contract she signed and another $94 for court cost, for a total of $1,594.00. By us winning the court case against Ms. [redacted] proves all of her allegations were false and fictitious. We take pride in our work and do not wish to have to take people to court. We do expect to get paid for the work that we do and our contracts are detailed so that there are no surprises. If we think that there might be an overage or change order than we include that in the contract to let the client aware of an extra cost due to the fact that there may be things that happen or come up that we did not expect or we cannot foresee. Thanks for taking the time to read our letter and we hope that you have a Blessed day,

Shame on this business. An employee left a lid unscrewed and polish spilled all over my wife. They blamed her for it and charged her fully all while apologizing profusely. When I call back and spoke to the owner she blamed my wife. Spend your money somewhere else.
