Our initial experience with Gold Crest was awesomeThey were attentive to detail, to our needs and even to our neighbour's needs as our home went through an extensive renovation, both inside and outThe estimates for time to complete were completely wrong, but we have rarely relied on estimated completion dates anyway
The first problem was that Gold Crest used a concrete company that did an awful jobGold Crest stood behind their guarantee and, after ten months, broke the poor concrete work to repour the entire driveway and front stepsThey should have used the right company in the first place
Most troublesome was that our great communications in the first months was followed by months of poor to no communicationsWe didn't know if the company had folded or what had happenedWe didn't know if the project would be completedIn the end it was, but the non-communication was stressful
Also troublesome is that I felt pressured to provide cheques for upcoming work, but no invoices or receipts were issued for the last half of the projectWe still have not received a complete accounting for our renovation
There are minor jobs which were never attended toFor example, the original concrete company bent a brand new outdoor faucet knobGold Crest was told many times, but they did not fix it
We are proud of the end result of the project renovation, but the process was more stressful than it should have been, and I have doubts that I have overpaid for the work provided
