Mr. G cut trees on two different occasions for us at *** We paid him when services were completed. On or about November 7, 2019 we paid hiim the requested $340 for him to purchase a tree to be delivered and planted to replace a tree he had removed from our property. The check was cashed by Mr. G the same day. When he had not returned with a tree by the first week of December 2019, we informed him we did not wish to proceed and to refund our money. He agreed to do this; however, he did not immediately send us our money. On January 7, 2020, on legal advice from an attorney, we mailed him a certified letter return-receipt requested in which we asked for our money. On January 14, 2020 he texted me that he was going to send the money. Because he claimed he had difficulty with "Zelle," he said he was sending $5 as a test. I received the $5.00 but nothing more that day. On 1/15/2020 I texted him that fact and he eventually "zelled" us $100 that day. On January 21, 2020 I texted him again and he said he was having problems with the bank and Zelle but he hoped to have it resolved by week's end. On January 27, 2020 I texted requesting the remainder of money owed and I have not heard from him since. He still owes us $235 and we are seeking assistance from your agency to collect this.
