Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves preying on new business owners. Thank god I pay attention and I know for a fact government agencies don't use stamps. Y'all will be out of business sooner than later.

These people go to college and use their education and degree in an evil way and justify themselves as educated individuals or scholars and put up a face that they are there to help and justifying that they are not doing anything against the law.

So I ask a question where is your ethics. Will you send this letter to your brothers, mother, or son or daughter. Can you all go get a real profession and do some good to humanity and this great country. This guy needs to go to jail.

These people are not hurting good hard-working Americans but they are the scar to the civil society and humanity. They are hurting small businesses and people who whats to earn an honest living and support their family. SOS needs to file charges to companies like this and send these people to jail. They don't even deserve 1 star. I give them -10 stars

I am angry that I almost paid $72.50 for the services they claim to provide. I am grateful they offer customer service, but all they did was tell me I had to mail my payment and couldn't pay over the phone or online. This is was a red flag for me, so I did some searching online and then saw the Revdex.com complaint. I am grateful someone filed a complaint in the past because I mistakingly assumed that the $72.50 was required for the nonprofit I recently created. I can only imagine how many other new business owners wasted precious start-up funds on their service. I'm running low on funds, and $72.50 for a piece of paper I can get from the state for $10 is ridiculous. Customer service with the so-called GA Certificate Service did apologize, but it sounded like they were defending themselves. I am upset that I didn't see the small print on the form I received stating "This is not a government agency". This GA Certificate Service needs to be representing themselves with more transparency so that it doesn't appear necessary to acquire the State certificate through them. I can easily picture the manager/owner's scheming to get as many people to pay their huge fee for a piece of paper that cost them $10. I hope this company and really its owner (who I think never will) gets their act together. I am contacting the Office of Consumer Protection now.

received this thing today. Pure scam. Unfortunately some people will fall for it. There must be someway to prevent these people stealing from newly formed companies.
On a side note: I did mail back as much junk mail as I could stuff in the envelope they sent me - it was worth the first class stamp.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. They are a third party service preying on the ignorant to make an easy and unethical dollar. You can get a certificate of existence instantly from the Secretary of State online for $10, if and when you need it. In the letter I received, they implied I had to have it right away, and they were charging $72.50. Everything on the letter looks like it could be a government agency, especially to the untrained eye, but there is one TINY bit of fine print that says, "This is not a government agency". This is probably their fail safe that legally permits them to do what they do, but legal and ethical aren't always the same thing. Do not send them your money. If enough people are smart, they will go out of business as they should.

Pure scam no matter what they say. They are a third party entity trying to make $62.50 off of unsuspecting newly formed LLCs. You can go right to the GA Secretary of State's website and purchase the Certificate of Existence for $10 if you really need one.

Upon further research the address is a UPS mailbox and if you call you will get someone who's upset with you if you tell them they are fraudulent.

Do not send them your money~

I received this letter today. I research getting LLC thoroughly prior to getting it. I never heard of or have seen it in any research. I was looking at it carefully and decided to check here. So glad I did. First thing I notice is the stamp. Why would the state of GA mail something from Florida. BIG RED FLAG! Tampa at that!
Plus things like. "This is not a government agency". I think I'm going to call that number and harass them with my spare time. Scam! Don't send money.

THIS COMPANY OPERATES UNDER FAKE BUSINESSES BETWEEN GEORGIA, FL, WYOMING AND CALIFORNIA.

According to the official Georgia Secretary of State Corporations site, here are the business entities and control numbers for you to search for yourself.

https://ecorp.sos.ga.gov/BusinessSearch

This is a summary of what I found.

1. "GA Certificate Service" can't be found on the official GA S.O.S.gov site.

2. I searched "Certificate Service" and found "CA Certificate Service". I assume they are scamming people in California also. see below

3. "CA Certificate Service" is based in St. Petersburg, FL (control #19059436).

Note: The letter I received was postmarked from St. Petersburg, FL. BUT, this company is registered under another parent company named "Registered Agents, Inc". see below

4. Registered Agents, Inc (control # 11025325) also shows an address in Roswell, GA. BUT, they appear to have been started by two people: BILL *** and JACK *** out of Sheridan, Wyoming it seems

5. Registered Agents, Inc appears to have been started by these guys under "NORTHWEST REGISTERED AGENT, LLC", again with a Roswell, GA address. (control # 13442834)

6. Someone named TOM *** out of Roswell, GA seems to be the one who started "NORTHWEST REGISTERED AGENT, LLC"

I received the same letter today. The letter they sent was designed to look as if it was sent by the state for the certificate of existence, and included a deadline to act. I was quite prepared to make the purchase for $72.50. Luckily for me, I am skeptical by nature and was curious why I couldn't make this purchase online at the State's website, as I had for the formation of my business and why I wasn't aware of this potential requirement prior to forming my LLC.

I noted the "This is not a government agency" line which is the smallest print anywhere on the form and in a very misleading place in the lower middle of the page centered just below MY businesses information under the headline/section "Business Information", as though that line applies to my LLC, not their business.

I took a much more critical look at the document after reading what Revdex.com wrote. A couple of things to note about their misleading nature, when looking at the document, they used the state of GA's general format of giving their document a form number in the bottom left corner "FORM GACS-S 10.XXX(X)" and in the bottom right corner to make themselves appear more legitimate they added "FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY: GA-#NUMBERS#". The #NUMBERS# represent a control number this misleading company assigned your business.

Lastly, notice that the email address they provide is a .COM not a .GOV address, which all of my correspondence with the state has been .GOV email addresses.

What "GA Certificate Service" is doing may not meet the criminal level of fraud, but it is purposely misleading.

I await seeing the civil suit that will likely be filed against them for their highly misleading practices in the near future.

As another user stated I would have left the star value blank. However Revdex.com requires minimum of one.

Revdex.com, Thank you for having already looked into this before this company received any unwarranted, ill-gotten gains from me.

Appearance as government entity charging unnecessary fees. They are preying on new business in Georgia.
Received invoice dated 11/21/19 saying I had to respond by 12/5/19. Seal on letterhead looks like Georgia government entity. The invoice is for $72.50 for a Certificate of Existence but I can get it for $10 from Secretary of State's office directly.

Desired Outcome

This business needs to be shut down.

Thank goodness for Revdex.com and others speaking up, I was prepared to pay $72.50.

I just received the same exact letter 11/21/19. It occurred to me that I could ay this online via Georgia Corporations Division. I called Toll free # asked why online it's showing $10.00 and asked for them to explain the difference in fee $72.50. The rep got a bit indignant and said you don't have to use our service. I asked for her name and explained that this letter is fraudulent. Needless to say, she hung up on me. Unbelievable!

I just received one of these letters after registering my LLC business a week ago. It's very carefully worded to sound like it's necessary, the opening sentence stating "Your Articles have been filed with the secretary of state and are complete. You have one step left in order to attain your elective Georgia Certificate of Existence." The key word here being "elective", but nonetheless the wording throughout the rest of the letter still makes it seem like it's necessary to get it immediately.

$72.50 is insane for a $10 document. Do NOT send these people money.

+1

Complete fraud and scam. Mail received from GA Certificate Service looks reasonably official but read the fine print and don't waste your money on these games. GA Certificate Service should be prosecuted for deceptive practices and put out of business.

Complete SCAM. It is not a government agency, Read the other reviews as I agree with them.

They were paid 72.50 for the Certificate of Existence on September 16th and I have yet to receive the Certificate.
On September 16th I paid GA Certificate services 72.50 for my Certificate of Existence. When I did not receive it by the 24th of September I called them to inquire about the certificate and was told that it takes 10 days to receive if I have not received it by then to call them and They will rush it to me. I called again today 10/08/19 and was told there was a problem with the postal service and it could take 3 to 6 weeks for me to receive it. I don't understand they are located in Georgia and I reside in Georgia what is the delay

Desired Outcome

I would like for them to rush me my Certificate or give me my money back

The letter I recieved from GA Certificate Service, just one week after establishing my llc in Ga, was designed and looked like an official document from the state. They do throw the word "elective" in the letter just as they are telling me I have one step left in order to obtain my certificate of existence. YES, they do just enough to be able to claim that they are not trying to counfuse and manipulate people into paying way too much for the service they provide...but that is exactly what they are trying to do. This is not a government agency.

+1

Absolute SCAM! No legitimate government associated office works out of a UPS mail box and no working website. Do yourself a favor and actually get the correct item from the SOS directly.

+1

COMPLETE SCAM. They charge you $72 for something that you can get for $10 on the Georgia Sec. of State website ***

SCAMMERS. I don't even know why it's legal for a third party entity to request this form for a business - that just invites scams like this. They provide NO additional value - they just take your money.

+1

A Scam corporation trying to get money for a useless certificate called in their parlance a Certificate of Existance. There is no value to the certificate they issue and it is not required accordng to the Secretary of States office when I called and asked about this solicitation I received shortly after getting my LLC listed. The very fine print on their form does state it is 'not a government agency'. Please read the fine print.

This business does not even rate a star but Revdex.com requires one.
