I am submitting a review of Franklin Collection Services in Tupelo, MSOn Monday, September 29,we received a call from " [redacted] " from FCSI stating we owed $to AT&TShe asked to verify my home phone number and mailing address as well as my husband's last digits of his SSNI told her I did not feel comfortable disclosing that info and asked for her to give me the number she had on file as well as the addressThe number and address were from the Houston, TX areaWe have never lived in this areaI said this was fraud and I would not be paying any amount since the bill in question was not oursI verified in June of when we were sent collection notices that we did in fact not owe this billI called AT&T and was told this practice is a scam and there were no delinquent charges on our bill and there was in fact no indication our account had ever been turned over for collectionNow, 1/years later, I get a phone call claiming I still owe the same amountDuring the call " [redacted] " , if that's even her real name, agreed that this sounded like identity theft and assured me she would be sending a fraudulent claim packet to usAccording to her our call was being recorded so if that was even true, I'm sure someone can go back and listen to our conversationThe catch was in order for her to send that out she was required to get my husbands last SSN digits and our home mailing addressUnfortunately, I believed she was sincere instead of listening to my gut instinctImagine my surprise when instead of a fraudulent claim packet, we received a collection letter from Franklin Collection in the mail yesterdayIt didn't take long to find out this company is very unscrupulous and as big a fraud as any two bit hustlerI will not pay this bill and if this harassment does not stop immediately I will see to it that this company is bankrupt before this time next yearMr [redacted] has no idea who he has chosen to scam this time aroundI will not be bullied by the likes of his companyThey have been reported to Lifelock as well as AT&T for a second time

FCSI has done an extensive search to find where the number [redacted] has been dialed and have come up with nothingWe do not reflect any calls being placed to this numberI have taken the extra step to ensure there are none going forward by blocking the number [redacted] from being dialed as a precautionIt is never FCSI's intent to call a wrong number, it is not monetarily feasible to do soWe apologize for any inconvenience and hope this resolves any further issuesThank you

FCSI was assigned this consumer debt for collection on or about 05/14/ FCSI is not a debt purchaser The consumer communicated a dispute to FCSI and shortly thereafter, on or about 07/02/15, FCSI mailed a verification letter to the consumer, denying inaccuracy per the requirements of the Texas Finance Code FCSI on or about the same date requested that the credit reporting agencies mark the data entry for the referenced account as “disputed.” On or about 07/06/FCSI also mailed to the consumer an itemized statement detailing the balance due claimed by the original creditor FCSI has fully met its obligations A duplicate of the verification letter and itemized statement are also being mailed this date to the consumer as a matter of courtesy since he claims not to have received the sameThank you

Upon receipt of this complaint, we reached out to our client, the original creditor, AT&T and they investigated and stated that the original balance was $and a payment was made of $on 1-20-paying only half the debtIf she has proof otherwise of when and to whom she paid the balance we would need that information so AT&T can investigate where the funds wentThank you

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I upgraded my AT&T internet services from the account in question in November of 2013, hence the disconnect on 11/ AT&T would have not let me upgrade/change any accounts with them if I had a prior account balance This was for an account cancellation/disconnect fee, when really I didn't disconnect, I only upgraded I've had this conversation with Franklin Collection Service and AT&T more than once There's miscommunication between Franklin Collection Service and AT&T, and I'm the one suffering for it Please proceed to remove the balances from both companies, and from my credit If this continues, I will contact my lawyer and get them involved, but would like to prevent going down that avenue Regards, [redacted] ***

I was verbally bullied and shamed by the [redacted] , the supervisor on shiftIt's one thing to collect on a bill, quite another to raise your voice and talk down to the callerVery unprofessional and very rudeWhile I understand that their job entails trying to desperately collect, owing a small amount does not make you a criminal, nor entitle a bill collector to shame and harass youEither someone can pay at the moment or they can'tI don't believe attacking them is going to be productive in the least bitPlease be weary when dealing with this company

When we reviewed the account, we did report it to our clients as paid in full and the credit reporting agencies were notified as wellWe have again after receipt of this concern sent another notice to the CRA's to have it removedWe have no control over the CRA's doing their job in removing, we can only make the request that they do , which we had done prior to this complaintThank you

He has requested validation of the debt we are attempting to collect and I have requested that validation be sent to the address he provided in this complaint. We also have notified the credit reporting agencies that he is disputing this. Thank you.
