On November 6th I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change. I left Jiffy lube and went home. I work in town less than 2 miles from my home in which I drove my car on Friday November 7th, back and fourth to work only. On Saturday November 8th I begin driving my car on the Massachusetts turnpike to visit my daughter in college in Worcester, MA. Approaching exit 10, my oil light came on and my car started to rattle, moments later my car stopped. My vehicle was towed off the MA Pike for-113.50, then the car was towed again for 52.00 to my mechanic in West Springfield, MA.My mechanic stated that prior to this service my engine was in clean, good shape. The Jiffy Lube Service technician that I spoke with had me view there video tape of my cars service and stated that the oil had been changed, the oil filter had been placed in, and the plug had been put on. I additionally had the Jiffy Lube manager go speak with my mechanic. My mechanic states that within 24 hours of getting services for a car that he had seen 1 month prior, with a clean, good working engine had oil all over the inside of my engine and none left in. My cars engine seized and is now sitting at my mechanics waiting for a replacement engine. The estimated cost for this engine and labor will be 13,000$.Desired SettlementI am seeking the cost of a new engine provided and installed by my mechanic and the expense of tows that occurred that day, as well as a full refund for services from Jiffy Lube that was done on my car.Business Response The manager conducted an investigation. He went and looked at the vehicle and spoke to Ms. [redacted]'s mechanic, as well as reviewed video of the entire Jiffy Lube service on her car. It is clearly marked on the oil change invoice that oil was leaking severly, and oil was not reading on the dipstick in the engine when she came in. We performed and oil change as requested. The video clearly shows our technician performed the oil change correctly and performed all the proper procedures. The customer also watched this video of service. Her mechanic said the vehicle looked to have an excessive oil leak possibly from cam seals. This has nothing to do with an oil change, and the car was leaking prior to our oil change. In conclusion of our investigation we have determined that we did our job correctly and that the existing oil leak was the cause of vehcile engine failure due to loss of oilConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)It was not clearly written on my receipt Or brought toy intention ever that there was a leak of any kind, my original receipt - which I have was supposivly unreadable and reprinted at the time of the complaint. My mechanic also clearly confirmed that I had no issues with my engine as seen 1 month earlier for an axle change .

I purchased $20 fuel for my car on 04/26/2013, the lady on the cash register swiped my credit card twice by mistake, because she thought the first swipe did not go through. It came on my credit card a duplicate charge, then the [redacted] said to come back in a week to refund me the $20 to my credit, I tried so far 4 times to collect my money back and to get an apology, with no luck, I complained about the [redacted] with Mobile.ThanksDesired Settlementrefund me my money $20 and apologize for your employee's mistake!Consumer's Final Response I got a call from the Mobile gas station [redacted], she apologized and she refunded me my money($20) back. The complaint is resolved now, thank you so much Revdex.com for your help.

If you want to be threatened by Mr [redacted], call with a situation where their car wash machinery caused damage. He will deny any responsibility. On June 17, we had our car washed and during the wipe down noticed a dent in the rocker panel with paint missing. After the manager denied any fault, we coiled customer service. Our first two calls went unanswered. When Mr. [redacted] returned my third call, he refused to consider any liability and finished his part of the conversation by saying, "If you don't like it, take me to court". Quite a remarkable display of customer service! That was not our intent. We hoped we could have a reasonable solution since we had been loyal FL Roberts customers for decades.Desired SettlementOur insurance will cover the damage, but we have a $500.00 deductible.Business Response We investigated Mr. [redacted] claim and found there was nothing that substantiated his claim. We washed 347 cars that day and had no other problems. All the equipment is new and the location was recently renovated in May. To this date we've had no other customer cars dented or scratched. Our maintenance staff double checked the equipment and found nothing wrong with it. Based on these facts, we concluded that the car wash could not have caused this damage and that was what we informed Mr. [redacted] well. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This response does not address the rude manner in which Mr. [redacted] treated me: "If you don't like it, take me to court."

I brought my 2005 VW Jetta in for an oil change. Was told that everything was all set did air filter and oil. My car stalled 3 different times on thedrive home and struggled to restart. I brought it right to my mechanic that day who stated that the wrong oil was put in my car. Called jiffy lube was told to bring car back by manager [redacted] and he would take care of it. By March 11th my car was already down 1 quart of oil.I have now been informed that my car was run with out oil mechanic stating that Jiffy Lube must have started and ran car with out oil in it. Also being told that my hood latch is now bent (previously to jiffy lube touching car was not) and has resulted in the hood letting go March 25 and smashing into my windshield damaging my roof, both fenders and hood. This prompted mechanic to pull apart motor with a vw specialist from Springfield vw dealership. Informing me I have metal shavings in my engine, inside of engine is all burnt and has massive damage. Substandard service for oil change resulted in oil spewing from the gasket at the filter. Repeat oil change by same co. resulted in engine damage! On Tuesday, July 23, 2013 my daughter took advantage of this Jiffy Lube's Crazy Tuesday discount oil change rates for the first time with te 2006 Ford Fusion which we had previously owned since new & serviced meticulously elsewhere. She was charged the full rate $42 & when she next drove the car on Thursday, July 25th, it ran rough & the engine oil light came on as she rolled into our drive 15min. away. Her father found NO oil in the engine when he checked immediately & an hour later. [redacted], the manager from Jiffy Lube, rode with me to our house on the morning of Friday, July 26th, in our other vehicle to check the 2006 Fusion. He too found NO oil in the engine & added 4 quarts of SAE 10W30 which he stated was the only weight oil they had in bottles. He assured me that he would remove all the heavier weight oil & replace it with manufacturer recommended SAE5W20 when they did a repeat oil change. We drove the Fusion to the Jiffy Lube on Memorial Drive in Chicopee where I was told they had done a complete repeat oil change after "finding the oil filter gasket blown" ([redacted] words) from the first oil change done there. When asked what would cause a new oil filter gasket to "blow out" [redacted] could not give me an answer. [redacted] stated that it is Jiffy Lube's protocol to check pressures after every oil change to be sure the filters/parts are secured properly. He did not know how this could have been missed. He assured me they had washed the leaked oil from the engine and checked these pressures after the repeat oil change. I returned the car to our daughter 15 minutes away where the car was parked until she drove it that night. We both noted a slight chemical odor from the engine & thought it just residual from the cleaning. She next drove the car from [redacted] in South Hadley to the scenic look out on I-91 North near Easthampton, where she emergently pulled off the freeway when she saw smoke billowing from her car in the rear view mirror. She had the fusion towed to [redacted]'s Auto in South Hadley, a mechanic we trust. [redacted] informed us today that oil is gushing from ** area near the starter. He is not equipped to pull the engine so suggested if we need to do so to determine the problem in order to deal with Jiffy Lube, that we take tow the car to the Family Ford where we purchased the vehicle new in 2006. Until this issue, this 2006 fusion was running smoothly & had mostly freeway miles which we had put on it. I returned to Jiffy Lube today & left a message on the [redacted], [redacted] phone (XXX-XXX-XXXX) and have now received a call back from the [redacted], [redacted] (XXX-XXX-XXXX) who said he will contact our mechanic, [redacted], to discuss the status of the 2006 fusion engine problem.Desired SettlementIf the engine block is indeed cracked, then the engine will need to be replaced by a reliable mechanic, whom we seek to verify through the Revdex.com or have this work done at the original dealer, Family Ford in Enfield, CT. We would appreciate reimbursement for all towing fees as well. Any rental car fees would also need to be covered. [redacted] has made a suggestion to provide a rental car at no cost to us. He has not finalized this offer yet til he has spoken to [redacted], our mechanic.Business' Initial Response Jiffy lube had the vehicle diagnosed with Prefered Auto in West Springfield. It was found that the rear main seal was leaking. We authorized Prefered Auto to replace the seal. At this time the car is back in the customers hands.

The complaint is resolved now, thank you so much Revdex.com for your help.

asked for 29.95 oil change-told mfg recommended oil was a senethic blend-owners manual says SAE 5w-30. I paid 59.95 < 13.00 for wrong oil. 07/01/14 - invoice # XXX XXXXXX bay 13 - transaction # XXXXXXXXXXXXXXDrove up to the garage door - greeted by man with clip board - verified that ** oil change for my ford ranger was 29.95 - He said up to 5 qts. - waited in lobby - Saw my truck moved in and mechanic draining the oil. sat outside and young lady calls out my name to go over services jiffy lube provides - she asked what kind of oil I wanted and I said whatever the mfg recommended. She looked it up and said the mfg recommendation was a sinthetic 5w-20 and that it would cost me 59.95 less 13.00. ** this point I wasn't to happy, now that they were already draining the oil. They should of told me this up front. When I got home I had to check the owners guide. It says to use a motorcraft SAE 5W-30 API. Ford oil specification is WSS-M2C153-G. Now I have the wrong oil in my engine because [redacted] said that the synthetic blend 5W-20 was the mfg recommendation for this engine. I ** going back to [redacted] tomorrow to see what can be done. I understand that once you put synthetic oil in your engine you can't change back. I have spent way to much time with this. This really bothers me. This is [redacted] primary business and they get it wrong. Think I'll take my business elsewhere in the future.Desired Settlementwould like the engine flushed somehow and the right oil put in the engine. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX XXX XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@flroberts.comLeft message for customer to call us on 7/25/2014. This is the first we are hearing of this complaint. 5w20 is the correct oil for this vehicle. There is a technical service bulletin that was sent out by Ford manufacturing co. to use 5w20 blend. The customer is correct it does say 5w30 in his owners manual, however the technical bulletin supersedes the oweners manual. We will be more than happy to put which ever oil he likes in the vehicle, however the oil we used is the correct viscosity.Consumer Response Response, The following day meet with the[redacted]. Found him to be reasonable and he put my mind ** ease concerning the synthetic oil mix used. He said the oil was now authorized by Ford and would do no harm to the engine, and I could go back to the standard oil without any problems next oil change. The problem was I was told that this truck took the synthetic oil and I would be charged the higher price. Even though I questioned the oil, bottom line was not offered the Std. 5w20 oil which I thought it took. I was told by the girl ** the desk that the synthetic oil blend was the only oil offered for this truck and that I would be charged a higher price. Since the oil was already out of the truck I had no recourse but to pay for the only oil offered and paid the higher price. When I went home I checked my owners manual, it said 5w20 oil. This is the reason for the write up. Final Business Response Sent check today for $30.00 for the difference in the oil change. Thank you for allowing us to resolve this issue.
