Electric & Gas Industries Association Reviews (2)

Review: On March 17, 2014 we had our HVAC system replaced by [redacted]. We were given a rebate form that we mailed on 3/24/14. We were supposed to receive a rebate of $350 from EGIA within 14 days. I have called the company at least once a week since 4/14/14. They no longer return my calls and the last time I called, they didn't even pick up the phone. On 5/12/14 I asked someone at [redacted] to intercede and they told her I should have the check by 5/31/14 at the latest. It is now 6/2/14 and I do not have the $350 we were promised. Any help you can to get this money would be much appreciated.Desired Settlement: We would like the $350 rebate.

TENTATIVE acceptance of response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is tentatively satisfactory to me.

Review: My gas company was advertising the rebate when replacing old water heaters or upgrading, with my home for sale I decided that I would do that because I knew it could be costly. I purchased and had the water heater installed on 4/29/14. I submitted all the necessary documents. I kept receiving emails requesting additional information which I provided. On the application the serial number of the old water heater was requested which I provided and the install and paid receipt for the water heater. I submitted all the necessary information on 5/22/14 and read the terms. I did sell my home approx a month later. in one of the emails I was asked for the new water heater's serial number which I did not have because I had just moved. I looked through the application and no where on the application or directions does [redacted] advise they need the New serial number, only the old one which I provided. I explained to the person I was dealing with through email and once I mentioned that I had moved I received an email stating that I was denied because my account is no longer active. No where on the terms does it mention anything like that. My account was active at the time of install and purchase. It appears that [redacted] was looking for any reason not to give me the rebate. I feel that that is false advertisement and extremely misleading. If those are the rules [redacted] should have stated that in their agreement otherwise I would have never purchased the water heater.Desired Settlement: I am requesting to receive the $350 rebate for purchasing and professionally installing a new gas water heater as advertised through [redacted] and Florida City gas.
