I’m writing you in response to a complaint I received via U.SMail, ID # *** First I’d like to discuss the warranty on the flashlight, it has a year free service warranty and a year limited warranty against manufacture defectsWhen a product is replaced under the parameters of the
warranty stated, the warranty does not start over on the replacement item givenThe warranty on the replacement product, goes back to the original purchase date, the customer is also required to provide proof of purchaseIf the customer can’t provide proof of purchase, then we also look at the date code stamped in the productThe date code stamped on the flashlight was from The customer states that we already replaced a flashlight for him in the past, my computer system allows me to see transactions from the last eighteen monthsWhen researching, I could not find any transactions associated with the customer’s name, phone number or addressI am however able to see the date the last time we did a transaction with a specific customer by looking up their name in the master systemThe computer system shows that the last transaction we did with the customer filing the complaint goes back to 7/31/I’ve asked the customer to provide the original receipt or even the paperwork from the last time he claims we replaced it, the customer has not complied to my requestWhen trying to explain our warranty guidelines to the customer, he got angry and used profanity in front of me and one of my female employee’sThe customer claims to be a loyal customer, however I have no record of business transactions in the last two yearsHe also claims that I or my staff treated him rudely, this couldn’t be farther than the truthHe was treated with respect and dignity, at no time did we treat him otherwiseI believe the customer owes us an apology for being rude to us and displaying poor behavior and use of offensive profanityIf the customer can provide clear documentation that his product is covered under the manufacture warranty, I will be happy to replace it, if not, then I won’t. With respect,*** ** *** ***Service Operations ManagerDEWALT Factory Service Center*** W*** LaneAustin, TX *** **
