Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2016/04/21) */
The price increase for the needed decking was on the proposal and explained to the customer before we ever started job. The customer signed that proposal to accept the job.
The estimator also explained that for the chimney to be flashed, she...

would have to have a stone mason to remove the stones and replace them when we finished with the roof. Both contractors will have to work together to complete this task. He mentioned [redacted] could do it, but they are no relation to Taylor Made Roofing & Contracting.
We installed the decking correctly. If the roof is sagging then it would be a structural problem with
the rafters.
Our major priority here at Taylor Made is customer satisfaction and we would like to resolve this with the customer. We called the customer the same day we found out about the complaint. We are trying to set a time and day that we could meet with them.We have called 3 times and on the last call the customer said she would call back but hasn't. We are just waiting for the customer to respond, so we can resolve the issue. I can send in a copy of the signed proposal if needed.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/03/30) */
Customer was aware of what gutter material was going to be used. 0.027 Aluminum 5 inch K Style guttering. We removed his old guttering and downspouts then installed new guttering below the roof line of the existing metal roof, to help keep the...

snow from sliding off of the roof and damaging the guttering. All guttering is installed to slope towards downspouts. The customer called our office 1 1/2 yrs. after the install was complete, and 6 months after our warranty would have expired, with some concerns, at this time we sent one of our employees down to take pictures of all of the guttering. The metal roof eave trim which we try to get behind is attached to a 2x4 above the roof deck (not reachable) and above an old drip edge that was left behind when the current metal roof was put on. Someone other than OUR COMPANY has filled the flutes with expanding foam, caulked the old drip edge and rake trim together, nailed down the old eave trim to the sub fascia. To get behind these would result in damaging his existing fascia, eave trim, and/or rake trim. I have reviewed the pictures and found that all upper edge of the gutter is below the roof line, sloped towards the downspouts, inside the outer leg of the rake trim, and up to the top of the sub-fascia. The only finding that is questionable is that the guttering is 1/2 inch away from the end of the run. Still outside the pathway of water flow and inside the cavity of the roof. I have read his blog reviews about shingle roof, guttering installation and that the guttering should extend 1/2 inch past the rake board to collect all of the water from the shingle. These buildings have metal roofs. Steel guttering would be a much better fit with hangers that hold onto the ribs of the panels but would not be at the price he received. Steel gutters were never discussed between him and I. These guttering systems require that a snow retention system be in place or installed to prevent damage to gutters, because these systems are above the roof line. We could if he is willing, to make MINOR adjustments to the guttering project we installed, given the circumstances of the property.
Sincerely,
As I Remain
