We are sorry these individuals feel they have been wronged, but we disagree with their statements and dispute the manner that they have categorized our treatment of the situationWe had an open forum for collecting applications and paperwork for any and all interested parties for one particular
property and we assessed the qualifications of several parties, applied our consistent tenant screening parameters and found that another party was more suited and qualified for this property, in consideration of the rate and terms we were seekingWe wish them good luck in future endeavors

Regarding Complaint ID # [redacted]  Company name is Curtis Properties IncThis tenant claimed that the gate closed on their vehicle.  We immediately called our Gate Maintenance Company.  The Gate Company tested the safety features for the gate and found that if something is in the path...

the gate will stop and retract.  Therefore the Gate Company determined that the tenant hit something.  We received no other incident reports from other tenants as this person has stated.  We informed the tenant of the findings from the Gate Company and advised him to contact his auto insurance company to file a report.  To the Revdex.com we only learned of this complaint within the last week, we never received your original correspondence, otherwise we would have responded immediately.Thank youCurtis Properties, Inc.P.O. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[I have been in the real estate industry myself over the last 12 years and this type of misrepresentation and false commitments are not only extremely unethical but most likely not even legal.  A nonchalant apology after the fact will not suffice. In an effort to protect other future renters, this business should be held accountable for their wrongdoings and misrepresentations. They cannot operate above the law and must be held accountable. Upon a simple internet search, there have been entire websites deficated solely to warn others about this specific property manager and her ill treatment and unethical patterns of behavior. This is one of many. She was extremely arrogant and even said she did not care and was too busy before. Now that she has a written complaint she is changing her tune. We have already lost this home so there is not a great resolution we are going to get other than warning other innocent renters from what they are going to be dealing with. Hopefully with enough complaints they will be shut down.]

I was not the first tenant that got this incident.there were three more tenants that had the same incidents .I can provide their name and phone number for further clarification. After the incidents I tried to contact the management to resolve the problem but they did not respond me So I talked to property manager and notify her that the gate was not working properly and its dangerous.the false statement from the management compant stated that I hit the gate which is not true I got hit by the gate and I do have the all pictures to proof my statement.

Review: I still haven't received my rental security deposit from the property located [redacted] on Aug 10,2014. Its been more than 60 days and no response other than from one [redacted] stating the check got lost in mail on Spe 18th and a new one will reissued. But its been more than 30 days from that time and still no check on mail.Desired Settlement: A complete refund of my security deposit of 500$ for the delay in returning the amount.

Review: My roommate and I have been avidly searching for a new home to rent in Pacific Beach for the last 60 days. It has been very difficult while working full-time jobs to search and find a home. We had been in contact with property manager [redacted] for a home she had for rent at [redacted]. The home had just come up for rent and we were excited to have found the right house and especially excited that we were the "first" ones to get a chance to look at it. We were scheduled to meet [redacted] at the property at 5:30pm on Wednesday, February 18th. I met [redacted] at the property and she promised to rent the home to us and said she would do us a "big favor" as long as we didn't tell anyone. She said normally she would only take cash but would take a copy of a $1700 check to secure the property and then we could move in 10 days later. We would replace the copy of the check with an actual money order the following morning. We stayed up until 3am putting all of the necessary documents together, made a copy of the check and sent her every single item that she asked for despite having to be at work at 8am. The following day she would not even respond to us until late in the day and when she finally did, she said that the owner was out of town and had decided to "just let applications pile up" to pick the best one. We were absolutely heart broken She talked down to us in a very demeaning way and said that she was too busy and had more important rentals to handle than ours. We later found out that she not only lied about renting the home to us but also lied and misrepresented because we really trusted her that we would get the house like she said. She also lied and misrepresented herself because we later found out that she actually owns the property management company and her family trust owns the house itself! It was devastating to be lied to in so many different ways and to end up not get the house like she promised.Desired Settlement: Our desired outcome is to be able to rent the home that she promised us we could rent if we gave her the money and documents that we did.
