We went for a trade in of my Highlander with an Elantra. City Automall appraised my SUV and gave a quote of 17,000 initially. I decided to leave as it was $1500 less than the market value which other dealers were providing. Just as we were about to leave they offered us 18,000 at the door. They wrote the final amount on paper and we agreed for the deal. They took 2 hrs to get their Elantra ready, we waited. They informed they would be charging some extra amount for some paint work on the elantra. That also we agreed. Finally the Elantra was ready and we were about to shift our belongings from my SUV to the Elantra. Here comes the manager running and informed me that they would be paying $17,000 for the SUV and that it was a mistake on their part to have agreed for $18,000. This kind of trick I have never encountered before. Waiting with a toddler could have been avoided if they would have not played such dirty tricks on me. I finally sold my SUV to Autonation for $18500.
