Her son came in between 9-am to get the room. His mom paid for the room. He slept in the room all day and then his mom called and said the room was dirty. Her son never complained and asked to be moved. I told her I would have the maid come and clean the room. I sent

Review: My husband and I put a $3,000 deposit down on our daughter's wedding to be held at the Colonial Inn in Norwood, N.J. The wedding was scheduled for Sept 6 2013. Six months prior to the wedding we made our first payment toward the balance due in the amount of $3,700. Two months later our daughter felt compelled to cancel the wedding and we informed the owner of the Colonial Inn, [redacted] of the situation and he reminded me that we had discussed prior to signing the contract the possibility of having a different type of affair at the Inn to use the money. The contract states that he is entitled to keep the deposit which was $3,000 but he now refuses to return the $3,700 (first payment toward balance) nor will he allow us to have a party there which was requested in February, 2014. My husband and I went to small claims court as we were advised by our lawyer and he was served but defaulted on the summons. Because of the default the court has deemed he owes us the $3,700 but he refuses all written correspondence. We cannot afford to lose this money and we agree that he is entitled to the deposit but not the $3,700. Can you please advise us what we should do to collect this money.Desired Settlement: We paid [redacted] in cash for all sums of money and would appreciate getting our cash back.
