Business response taken over the phone by BBB staff 8/29/14. The company did exactly what the consumer told him to do. He asked them to check for birds in the flue which he did, and [redacted] was standing right there, his brother-in-law was there too. There were no birds. The consumer called... him back a week and a half to two weeks later and asked him to come out because there were birds in there and he did tell him that he would come out. Several things happened to keep him from going out, there was a family emergency which kept him occupied, but then he realized that there were no birds in the flue when he closed it up. The consumer also didn't mention any problems with the service when he called to report the birds. He had stated that they charged him an extra $100 for the second chimney, and he did charge $100 to put the cap on, which is what he needed and that is what he did. He asked the consumer and his wife to watch him put the cap on. Then he had extra cement left over, there was an old swimming pool bench and they asked him to use the cement to fix a loose stone, which he did, and then used the rest of the cement to fix the rest of the bench. Which he did not charge for. The consumer makes it sound like he demanded cash, but he never demanded it, had just said he'd knock some money off if he paid in cash.

Business response taken over the phone by Revdex.com staff 10/1/ As for the picture with the mortar splatter, the company says he was working on the back side of the chimney so the mortar splatter would not be from himThe consumer told him that the front part of the chimney was already blocked up, meaning that it was inoperable/completely closed downHe was there to tuck point the back sideThe consumer said he never saw him do the extra chimney for another $100, but that is not true because he asked the consumer and his wife to go over while he was working on it, because the consumer had extra wire to put in the flue to keep the birds out of the second chimney He had asked the consumer how it looked from down there, the consumer said it looked fine, and the company pointed out that they were putting the screen down into the chimney The consumer already had the screen and he put it in the flue for them

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response, reported by the Revdex.com, made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].
Please note that the most concrete evidence submitted to date is the phone call list, from [redacted].  It clearly indicates that some of the original business statement is not accurate.  The veracity of that list is easily verified since it is yet available from [redacted].
The business responses do not agree with my notes, the essence of which have been submitted to the Revdex.com, or with my memory of that day.  Some claims, of the business, are clearly contradicted by the photos, which remain available.  The chronology, of those photos, is easily verified by the internal date codes and their location within a long series.

We should expect that the various communications and published report, if any, reflect the integrity of the parties as should the decision of whether or not to publish said report.  This does seem to be a waste of my time.  I asked only that enough information be posted, on your site, so that consumers can make informed decisions.  I again offer to show any potential customer the quality of work done by this business.  If that business is proud of their work, they should seize the opportunity.  I do take pleasure in supporting those who do good work.
I challenge both the business and a Revdex.com representative to come to my home such that the business can point out the quality of its work.
The Revdex.com has my permission to publish my complaint, but only in full with all attachments, and only with the business' responses, as provided to me by the Revdex.com, all in chronological order.
I, of course, reserve the right to share any and all related information with any person and/or in forum I may choose.
Regards,
