Classic Windows and Doors By Design Reviews (1)

Review: Failure to honor timely commitment to service contract and delivery. Bait and switch tactics used by initial customer services representative. Contract signed on June 16, 2014 with verbal discussion that work could begin 7 days later. Rep then pointed to the fine print stating that work could start within 30 days of contract signing on Preinstallation inspection day which was June 16, 2014. Business contract states that "contractor will commence work approximately (30) days from the Pre Installation Inspection date..." After not hearing from the customer rep 7 days later, as prom[redacted]d, customer called contractor and was told by original customer service rep that contractor was unavailable after all but could try to make it the following weekend. By second week of July, customer received call from actual contractor stating he would begin work on July 23-several days after the 30-day preinstall date.Customer agreed to begin work on July 25 since had not heard from contractor in a timely manner to begin on July 23. Contractor agreed to start on July 25. However, contractor called on July 24 to delaystart date again stating that "due to a big job they are completing, contractor would be unavailable to start the customer's work and requested a delay. Customer was not pleased with this inconvenience. Contractor offered $150 off of job as incentive to delay. Customer declined as this was not acceptable. CContractor apologized but told customer to "do what you have to do." whem customer had suggested that contractor had not honored the good faith commitment to do the work as discussed or within the proposed 30 day window (no pun intended) .Desired Settlement: I am uncomfortable with the behavior of the contractor to-date. Therefore, my concern that this behavior may be indicative of future service and due to similar product and services issues listed on Revdex.com website, I am requesting a full refund of deposit and no further engagement with contractor. Thank you.

Response:

Hello Revdex.com, this is Cliff[redacted] from Classic Windows and Doors by Design, on 6/17/14 we entered into a agreement with [redacted] at the time I told the client that we were running a lead time to install of 2 weeks from the date of measure. but due to no trucks from the vendor until their is enough windows too load they withheld shipment until 4 weeks we contacted the client and told her that the install would be either Monday or Friday, no problem on Friday installer called and stated that he had the windows on the truck ready for install but due too weather he had too complete a job that was already started and could we do job either Saturday morning or Monday remind u that the company had already paid for the products we have receipt 1900 dollars for 8 triple pane replacement windows. Customer for some reason one day was too much when their is nothing on her contract that states that the windows will be in at start or comp. date? What I would like too ask her is if she reads the bottom portion of the contract it states that if the customers doesn't want the windows than we can charge the client up too 33% of the contract price that way we don't get stuck with the product and cant get them installed. The client can call me personally and we can come too some agreement but I don't want too lose 1900 for some custom windows when it was only for one day.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because Mr. W[redacted] is misrepresenting the facts as he personally discussed with me. I regret that Mr. F[redacted] may not have been aware of Mr. W[redacted]'s actions. For Mr. W[redacted] to now threaten using the contract terms against me is another example of why I do not want to deal with him further. Mr. W[redacted]'s negotiations with me on the contract date, which was June 16 and not 17 as he states in his reply here, remains as I accounted in the complaint. I am requesting a full refund of my $1900 deposit made on June 16. Mr. W[redacted]'s actions to-date and the continual delays in product delivery that led to my complaint remain my reasons for no confidence in the services of this company.
