Dear Ms. [redacted]:
Our records do not match Ms. [redacted] account of this situation.
· [redacted] & [redacted] purchased their home at [redacted] Renton,...
WA, in 2012. This is the billing address King County was given.
· Although invoices were sent quarterly to the above address, no invoices were paid and the customers did not contact King County.
· In April 2014 an Intent to File Lien letter was sent to Mr. & Ms. [redacted] at the above-mentioned address. The delinquency covered December 2012 – January 2014.
· The amount of delinquency covered in this Intent letter totaled $830.24 which included interest and late fees. This full amount was paid with an on-line payment.
· We received no communication from Mr. or Ms. [redacted], and no fees were waived.
· In March 2015 another Intent to File Lien letter was sent to Mr. & Ms. [redacted] at the same address, for delinquencies incurred February 2014 – January 2015 for $705.39, which includes interest and late fees.
· On April 8, 2015 we received a call from Ms. [redacted] asking to have the interest and late fees waived.
· A staff member attempted to contact Ms. [redacted] and left a voicemail telling her we are not allowed to waive interest and late fees.
· A payment was made for $623.40, leaving a remaining past due balance of $81.99.
· Until receiving your letter, we were not made aware of the change in billing address, but I forwarded this update to my staff and it has now been revised.
Per King County Code No. 28.84.050 interest and late fees may be added to any account when a payment is not made by the due date. We are not allowed to waive interest and late fees.
