When this patient first was seen for possible capsular contracture it was years from her last surgeryPatient stated that see had a scan showing that they maybe a possible rupture of the implantPatient was informed that since it was under warranty that they would give the implants and that she would also be receiving up to $refund from the company. She was quoted $for one side which included anesthesia, facility fee and surgical feeNever was charged for the implants or was even told that it is to cover the implantsPatient then emailed and asked how much it would be to do both sidesCost of $was giving to the patient to do breast exchange on both sides again never stating that she was paying for the implant, received an email asking if we could do everything for $since she was an established patient and was having issues financially we offered to do both for $Patient agreed to the price and move forward with the plan procedure.A week prior to the procedure patient came in for her pre-surgical visitWe went the plan procedure during this visit patient wanted to discuss possibility of changing the procedureShe first wanted to do both, then she wanted to do a breast lift (wanted to know if we would take her payment as well as the refund to do a lift and remove the implants, and lastly, she talked about just doing the one.? ? We went over what each procedure would do and not do and the possibility that if she decided to exchange the implants whether it is one or both that the capsular contracture may return requiring another surgeryBy the end of the visit patient decided due to financial reasons she would only due the one.Patient was called to confirm that only one side was going to be done and she stated she wanted both which again changed from the time of her pre-surgical visitPatient told that she would have to pay the additional charge for the surgery not for the implants but for a previous stated, anesthesia fee, surgical fee, and facility fee which all goes up when you are added additional time to a surgical procedureWe were completely up front and honest with her during the whole processWe took time to discuss all her option as far a procedure, what she would be responsible for financially, and what the warranty covers. We never commit fraud or refused to cover anythingThe warranty states what is covered and not coveredThey give finance assistance for years for a rupture implant which she did not have but the company agreed to give it to her because we sent them the report from the scan that stated that she might have a ruptureThey cover the cost of new implants if you have a capsular contracture (Baker Grade III/ IV) which she did have one side.?
