Company's response below:Dear ***,This complaint has already been resolved.Brief History:Mr*** made reservation with us and guaranteed the reservation with a credit card. In return we guaranteed his reservation, and did not release his room to additional guests, (several who called after
he made reservations).He arrived late (after dark), and didn't even have the courtesy to come to the office. He spoke on the phone with staff who said he would not be charged for the room, even after his guarantee. As a small "Mom & Pop" motel, we survive by keeping rooms full. We charge a "reasonable" rate for oceanfront rooms, for regular guests who can not afford expensive resorts, and prefer a quieter, more "Old ***" experience.If he had the courtesy, we would have shown him the room. We spend over an hour between guests vsthe industry standard of minutes. Our rooms are VERY clean, as all our reviews attest.We did charge him a $cancellation fee (even though we had the right to charge for his entire stay).Because staff didn't explain this properly, and because he obviously needs the money so desperately to spend hours of his and my time, we refunded it to him. We hope he enjoyed his experience elsewhere.This matter should be closed as it is resolved.Sincerely,*** ***
