Response:In the process of inspecting Mr [redacted] 's vehicle on behalf of CSAA InsI was informed by Mr [redacted] that his storage had been broken into on multiple occasions and that he was not absolutely sure of the items that the truck was equipped with prior to the lossMr [redacted] requested that I document in detail the items that were stolen, but, by his own admission, he was unsure of the brand/model of most of the itemsHe also demanded that I document in detail the damage to his storage unit and how the break-in/theft occurredI informed him I would put photos of these items/circumstances in my file and submit them to the adjuster, but that it was outside the scope of the assignment, as I had been tasked with inspecting only his truck and the items that were stolen off of itHe also provided a very limited list of items with no detail as to brand/model and I obtained this information from him, but I informed him that the shop would need to contact me when the got the truck to the shop and they had inspected it, in order for me to address the items properly and in order to reach an agreed price with themI completed my preliminary appraisal, as per the data provided by Mr [redacted] as there is no way to verify what has been stolen from a vehicle due to the parts being absent, not allowing a physical inspection/verificationThe truck was towed to his chosen shop where I re-inspected the vehicle and verified the parts that had been taken from the engine area as well as the labor rates needed by [redacted] ***, whom I have worked with on numerous occasions for past claims, at the shop to complete the repairs and restore the vehicle to it's prior conditionI submitted this information to the adjuster at CSAA as an agreed supplement in the amount of $5,628.86, per the industry standard operation in this type of caseThe adjuster appears to have denied all or part of the appraisal I submitted, based on circumstances that I am not privy to, and this has apparently lead Mr [redacted] to attempt to use the series of complaints he has filed and his claim that he has endured "major stress" and other medical suffering as leverage to change this determinationAs an appraiser, I am only tasked with physical verification and approximation of the value of the loss/damage and the forwarding of this information to the handling adjuster for his use in settlementI am in no way involved in what they determine is covered or how they settle the loss with their Insured, therefore, the complaint filed with this bureau against my office is clearly inappropriateIf anyone should have any further questions, please feel free to contact me directlyThank you.Sent on: 12/22/2:34:PMSent by:

Response:In the process of inspecting Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle on behalf of CSAA Ins. I was informed by Mr. [redacted] that his storage had been broken into on multiple occasions and that he was not absolutely sure of the items that the truck was equipped with prior to the loss. Mr. [redacted] requested that...

I document in detail the items that were stolen, but, by his own admission, he was unsure of the brand/model of most of the items. He also demanded that I document in detail the damage to his storage unit and how the break-in/theft occurred. I informed him I would put photos of these items/circumstances in my file and submit them to the adjuster, but that it was outside the scope of the assignment, as I had been tasked with inspecting only his truck and the items that were stolen off of it. He also provided a very limited list of items with no detail as to brand/model and I obtained this information from him, but I informed him that the shop would need to contact me when the got the truck to the shop and they had inspected it, in order for me to address the items properly and in order to reach an agreed price with them. I completed my preliminary appraisal, as per the data provided by Mr. [redacted] as there is no way to verify what has been stolen from a vehicle due to the parts being absent, not allowing a physical inspection/verification. The truck was towed to his chosen shop where I re-inspected the vehicle and verified the parts that had been taken from the engine area as well as the labor rates needed by [redacted], whom I have worked with on numerous occasions for past claims, at the shop to complete the repairs and restore the vehicle to it's prior condition. I submitted this information to the adjuster at CSAA as an agreed supplement in the amount of $5,628.86, per the industry standard operation in this type of case. The adjuster appears to have denied all or part of the appraisal I submitted, based on circumstances that I am not privy to, and this has apparently lead Mr. [redacted] to attempt to use the series of complaints he has filed and his claim that he has endured "major stress" and other medical suffering as leverage to change this determination. As an appraiser, I am only tasked with physical verification and approximation of the value of the loss/damage and the forwarding of this information to the handling adjuster for his use in settlement. I am in no way involved in what they determine is covered or how they settle the loss with their Insured, therefore, the complaint filed with this bureau against my office is clearly inappropriate. If anyone should have any further questions, please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you.Sent on: 12/22/2015 2:34:15 PMSent by: 98.208.4.161
