Ms*** *** called DrG***’s Office onApril 26thand asking to set up a new patient appointmentShe was being referred to us by DrG***’s office for her *** problemEvery new patient or potential new patient is asked the same question at the
beginning of every call“Are you familiar with DrG*** and Direct Care” Even if the answer is yes, we still follow up with discussion as following: “DrG*** is a direct care provider and what that means is that all of our patients are members and pay a monthly membership for her service, we DO NOT bill any insurance for any of DrG***’s servicesOur membership term is months to a year because most conditions DrG*** treat needs time to improveWe also have an option to have a One-Time Consult appointment with no commitment for $200.00/hr”We ask everyone to please read about direct care and how our office works on our websiteWe understand this is new practice module to most patients and we want to make sure they understand it completely. After discussing Direct care Ms*** asked to schedule a new patient visitWhile she was on the phone to schedule her appointment, she stated multiple times that she was “busy” and “in the middle of a bunch of stuff” and “wasn’t focused”.All new patients scheduled to see DrG*** are required to go onto our website and sign up onlineThey have to agree with the agreement that clearly stated that we provided cash service onlyThey also required to create a chart with contact and billing information and medical historyMs*** did all of that prior to the visit. In regards to her lab costShe was informed at her appointment that she has choice to either cash labs which offers special discount for members only prices plus a $draw fee, or to submit to her insurance with insurance pricing but she will still be responsible for the draw feeShe decided to submit her lab charge to her insuranceShe paid her Draw fee and also paid the monthly membership fee for May at the end of her appointment at1:57pm.The patient sent an email on 05/05/cancelling her membership, her billing was then switched from a member to a one-time consultShe was in office on 5/3/from12:05pm-1:57pm= 1.86-hour x 200/hr = $373.33. We waived the extra $to make her appointment a flat of $The invoice was sent to her.She then called and asked about the invoice that she received and we explained to her again how the membership and one-time consult works. After many lengthy phone conversations, DrG*** decided to just waive the $she still owe us and discharge her from our practice so we can focus on our time and effort to take care of our patients
