Bobby Q's Reviews (4)

I have been to the establishment for dinner a couple times and one time my wife and I visited the lounge. After visiting the lounge a couple of times, I tried to re-enter recently and was denied access. The security officer informed me that I was denied access for life. I initially thought he was joking, but quickly discovered he was not. After asking for a manager, I received no assistance and they would not divulge why I was not allowed to enter the establishment. I looked online and found another complaint 05/2013 and customer had similar experience.

Bobby Qs need to review their security system and ensure they are not discriminating against people for race, sex, gender, age, etc... I am educated successful 31 year old African American with no prior criminal history and never been involved in any type of incident.

I request that Bobby Qs provide rationale as to why I was denied service to their establishment and proof of incident that caused my ID to be "86'd" as described by representative when I called. Bobby Qs has been unresponsive as to providing any reasoning and this appears to be a discrimination issue. If they are not keeping logs as to why customers are denied service, it is a inadequate system setup to disguise discrimination against certain groups they do not want in their establishment which is illegal.

Review: To Whom it may concern, I am [redacted] a African American citizen living in Avondale, AZ. I was at the door at Bobby Q's restaurant and Bar on August 16th, 2014 and the guys at the door who happens to be white asked to see my ID. I gave him my ID and he swiped several times and he kept doing it so I finally asked him is their a problem. He said yes, You I'D not coming up in our computer system. I advise him that I have a new I.D and that it's only 8 weeks old. The device he was using take the information and stores your picture and all the information on their personal computer. I asked him did he have to do that and he said yes that the law. I nicely told him its not the law he just has to verify that i'm over 21. He told me it his club law and rules. I said ok, I had drove that far dressed up and so ok... then he said that his reader is registering my id and he cant let me in. I told him this is a brand new id and I only had it for 2 months... he still was like we cant read it on our machine no entrance. I then asked to speak to the owner or manger... A guy comes out 20 minutes later and walks up to security and the security officer wispered something in his ear. Seconds later the guy who is also white asked to see my I.D. I gave him my Arizona Drivers License. The guy didn't say anything for 2 minutes. I finally told him I have a second I.D. I then go in my wallet and displayed my Passport I.D Card. He replied I don't need to see that. I said OK. I then advised him I'm over 21 and that I'm 40 years old. I also told him I work downtown and I well over 21. Keep in mind I talking the this gentleman in calm manor and I haven't had a drink or partied because I went to work earlier that day. The guys then turns around and tells me I don't give a [redacted] if you work for OBAMA, that [redacted] don't mean [redacted] to me and a matter of fact leave my club and your banned and don't never come back to my club you disrespected me. Now I'm in shock and how this guys went off yelling and stuff. I still remained calm and I said how did I disrespect you. At this time I still have both id and said are you seriously and he said if you don't leave I will throw you out. At this time all the people out side were just looking shaking their head because the guy was just yelling at me for no reason. My friend stood up and said lets just leave and we left with no incident... ( Keep in mind I work in law enforcement and I have to conduct myself that is favorable to the general public view of my position )Desired Settlement: 1) Stop the practice of storing people personal information on their private computer. I work in law enforcement and I wouldn't want my personal information store on someone personal computer where anyone can see my personal information and picture.

2) Even though I will never return to the club under current management. I would like Bobby Q's to delete my information off their computer and remove the band.

3) I would also like a formal apology letter in writing

4) I would like free entrance to the establishment and free two round drink of choice since I drove over 20 miles wasting my gas to get into the club with my date just to get embarrassed and disrespected in front of the general public.

Review: On Sunday, October 28, 2012 at approximately 1:40 a.m., I was thrown to the floor and hurt while my fiancé sustained serious physical injuries to his face and hand as the result of uncontrolled unruly patron(s), inefficient staff and security staff which resulted in him having to seek medical treatment at the [redacted] Emergency Center located at [redacted]. A CT scan was negative for broken bones to his face; however, he has been unable to return to work. The hospital records can attest to the recorded place as being your establishment in which the injuries occurred. I am being seen by a chiroprator. I found that the Bobby Q Management and Security staffs were negligent in not appropriately securing or containing the incident in the best interest and safety of the guests. In fact, I did not see any security present at the onset of the incident and I and other witnesses sought the assistance of the Manager whose name was referred to as “[redacted]” without any regard. As a result of the incident my wallet and keys were also taken. I visited the establishment and left messages twice in hopes to learn if my items had been turned in. The staff was unknowledgeable and upper management was unavailable. My messages were not responded to until I recently spoke with “[redacted]” on my fifth attempt on October 30, 2012. He did not offer any resolution to rectify the concerns I had in which his mannerism could be described as discourteous and tactless.Desired Settlement: I would ask that at the minimum, the fees for our tab be refunded. In the letter I sent to the owner Mr. [redacted] on November 8, 2012 I inluded verification of our transactions for that early morning in separate amounts of $63.50 and $136.95. Since my wallet was stolen and all its contents including the debit/credit card in use I can only reference the last four digits as being 6278. However that card is closed. I am able to provide my new card number upon request if needed. [redacted] made his transaction via [redacted]. It is with hopes that I would be contacted in response to this complaint and I would like to thank you for your time and consideration of my request
