Joined brinks home security Dec2 the price was *** a month the sale person put down *** a month.got our first bill on auto pay and showed *** called the sale person he told me that it was a mistake he cane over and gave me 5 dollars and told me he would take care of it.That was 3 months ago still nothing has been done.Called 4 times to the office all they do is lie to me.last time they told me they would cut me a check for *** that is the difference for 36 months at 5 dollars a month.Never got any thing as of today.The sale person *** can't get a hold of him anymore. I feel they took advantage of me I do not recommend Brinks to any one they can't be trusted.

Desired Outcome

Would like Brinks to cut the check for *** dollars which would offset the difference That is *** a month for 36 months that is all I want.

. Brinks is the only company I know that when when you join them they won't send a welcome letter with a copy of the contract I asked them about it but have never got it sounds like they want to keep in the dark.

Brinks Home Security ("BHS") did not participate in the sale or installation of the alarm monitoring contract or equipment at Mr. ***'s residence. This complaint should be directed to B & D Security, Inc. A 36 month Alarm Monitoring Agreement was signed between B & D Security Inc and *** on December 3, 2019. Further means to resolve this issue would be through B & D Security Inc, as BHS is only responsible for the monitoring of the account and assists in billing. BHS has notified B & D Security Inc of the complaint and attached additional information. Please remove this complaint from our count.

Salesman came to my door Promised to buyout current security contract if I switched to his company. This was 9/11/2019. Still haven't done so.
On 9/11/2019 salesman (***) seen a vivint sign in my yard and said he could get me out if my contract by paying it off, if I signed on with his company (B & D) security which was then switched Brinks. I emailed all of the info asked for. Month by month as time went by I started making phone calls. All of which were just a runaround. B & D kept saying they were going to pay in a few more weeks. The salesman himself on one occasion stated he had been out of the office and just needed to ok the checks. Eventually I paid off the Pryor contract myself. The total I am out in all payments I made to vivint and and citizen loan from vivint is $*** after I signed with B and D.
On 2/19/2020 a *** with B and D stated that *** would pay me himself in 3 equal payments of $381.16 beginning on 2/22/2020 and each week following, till payed. I email proof of this from B and D security. I still haven't received any kind of payment.

Signed with B& D on Nov. 6, 2019. From Nov. 7th on, have had issues with service of equipment and failure to do buy-out with other security Co.
B & D installed improperly working doorbell and camera on November 6, 2019. After numerous calls, daily, beginning Nov. 7 - January 20, 2020 I was given different excuses and promises to take care of the problem. I was told a part was needed and would be sent to my home. Never happened. It took 2 1/2 months for the tech to bring a new doorbell and camera to install. I was also told that when I agreed to use B &I D, they would contact my previous security, ***, to pay-0ff any balance and switch the service to Brinks. I find out two months later, Jan. 23, 2020, that the buy-out was not done and *** is charging me for monthly service that I am not getting. When B & D installed the new equipment, they removed and trashed the *** equipment so I don't know how they are still montering. Tried to reach ***, a supevisor, at B & D but he never responds to text or phone calls. His office staff only gives me the run-around or make promises to "check" and call back. I would like B & D to fulfill their promise to handle the buy-out from ***. I should not be responsible for paying two security companies and only have equipment being serviced for one.

Desired Outcome

The resolution would be for B & D Security to take care of the buy-out with Vivint security as the account is still active until April 20, 2020. B & D's lack of adequate service has created a stressful situation which could have easily been avoided if they had been honest and professional as any business should be.

Defective Sensor needs to be replaced. I've called numerous times and I get no call back from Brinks or its Technical support team.
I signed up with brinks in January. From the first night the garage/shop sensor went off. We looked at our cameras and there was nothing moving. This sensor has gone off each and every night. Sometimes as much as three times in the middle of the night. I've called numerous times and have been promised that a technician would come to check it or replace it. To date I have not received a call or a visit from anyone from Brinks. This is what irritates me. They are wonderful at selling their product but hide when there is an issue.

Brinks Security and B&D are both charging me for the same service. Falsified contract from day 1.
Brinks is saying that B&D have to cancel the contract and B&D is stating that Brinks has to cancel the contract. Apparently *** from B&D has canceled the contract and has sent me a bill for $894.88 for cancellation. Brinks is continuously charging my account for the same service. Right now Brinks is saying I owe them about 114 dollars. I have filed a complaint with Bank of America, stop payment has been issued and it is being investigated. I'm a disabled veteran, due to their actions I was not even able to have a thanksgiving. These two companies are trying to play tug of war with me or telling me to get into a round room and find a corner to sit in. This needs to be addressed and the cancellation of the "contract(s)" for fraud, unfair practices and breach of contract. Thank you

Cancelling the contract and anything owed by Brinks and B&D security should be paid back in full to me. Also a letter from each company stating that there is a cancellation of the contract thereof!

As soon as ( Brinks and B & D Security ) both send me a letter pertaining total cancellation of both contracts (including no money or payments owed by me to them) this will not be resolved . Not until then because. They have a habit of passing the burden to the other company not to mention they " BOTH " are still " Charging Me " monthly for a service that I do not use! Only then this will be totally resolved. You can"t Both "CHARGE" anyone a amount for the same services. Under these conditions both of their contracts are & should be NULL & VOID due to contract manipulation & falsification their of ! Thank you .

This customer was is not being charged by B&D and Brinks. We explained to the customer multiple times that B&D charges the first month of service and brinks charges these individuals month and beyond. B&D only collects the foray month. We have explained this numerous times to the point we made it so we refunded the first month in good faith. However, customer is still being unreasonable.

If this is true, then why do I have charges from Bank of America stating that B&D Security has charged me more than once for the same service and from the day of the contract signing I specifically stated that the payment would have to be pro-rate to the fourth of the month so that I would have money in the bank. Instead I was charged on the 26th from Brinks Security ever since. If Brinks would like to call me at *** then maybe we could start over as long as it is done in the manner in which it was originally intended to be. I'll sign a new contract for one year under the condition that it is done in a manner that benefits both of us. We can extend the contract in good faith if everything goes as it should. Thank you

On February 2019 I spoke to *** the in installer he wasn't very helpful when needed.He said he was from brinks security we discuss the services of ring and cameras also home owners security system. At no time was B&D security was mentioned to me only brinks. I agreed to services but was never received paper work and never received the battery to operate and only some wires. I was aware I needed a battery but instructions weren't never given properly.in august I asked to discontinue the internet because my grandson was gone for college and I didn't use internet.I agreed for another internet and I talked to *** at no time will he help and I happened to get brinks number I Called brinks they sent out people from B&D and installed the ring and the battery and it still does not work and he was good but don't have a name.then I called brinks that it wasn't working brinks was controlling the camera to see the view out front but we were never told the camera wasn't a live camera it only picked motion and she added that feature the same day because someone came up my front yard and left used dirty clothes on my porch and I asked for footage and I couldn't get any of footage even on my ring camera wouldn't show it would ask for a ring plan I wasn't never told about that this is all a mess. this happened about 2weeks ago later November and I finally found out B&D has a bad review -D. Im still waiting for help and I'm gonna report brinks because they say they have nothing to do with it this is very bad and unethical service.

B&D sold me a security contract. B&D was to contact my prior provider to discontinue service, failed to do so and resulted in an additional payments
On or about May 2019, B&D sales representatives came to my residence at which time they sold me a new home security contract with their company. During the transaction I asked sales manager *** who was responsible in contacting my prior security provider to notify them that the service provider has changed. *** stated they would notify the prior provider and that I did it have to do anything but to commit to the new contract. *** stated that I will receive one bill from the prior provider ADT that wound have been in June 2019, and on July 2019 I would be billed by the new provider Brinks. In July 2019 I will billed by my new provider but also was billed by my old provider. I immediately contacted *** and advised him of the double billing. He immediately replied and committed to refund me the payment that was taken from me $57.78. Refund never received. In August 2019 another payment of $57.57 was deducted from my account. Once again notifying *** who again committed to refund me to no avail. In September 2019 I continued to get double billed. I Contacted *** once again agreeing to refund me but to no avail. In October 2019 once again getting double billed now at $61.57, notifying *** and once again no refund. Same double payment occurred in November 2019. I then took an additional step and contacted B&D's main office and spoke to a lady who only identified herself as ***. I took the time to explain my situation. *** stated she looked at my account and confirmed that I had a refund coming to me. *** stated that I need to allow a week or so to receive the check. I allowed two weeks and did not receive the check. In mid November in contacted *** from B&D she stated that there was no accounting personnel available and she stated I wound get a call back once the accounting people were back to no avail. On December 3, 2019 I contacted B&D spoke to a lady who did not identify herself, I asked to speak to *** at which time I was told she was not available. I was told that they will notify her to call me back. I asked the lady to remind *** that she had promised to call me back and I am expecting a call back. Call back was never received and still waiting for a promised refund of $238.70.

B&D Security ran my social security number fraudulently, possibly involved in identity theft.
B&D Security ran my social security number illegally. I have had ZERO contact with them prior to this showing up on my credit report and don't live near them. I was not a potential customer or anyone that they should be running a credit report on.

I contacted them and they lied and said they did not run my credit report, that Brinks did. But that is false, it was B&D Security which is confirmed by the credit report company and Brinks. They lied and said they did not have my name or address, but that is also false, as they reported both along with my social security number to the credit reporting company when requesting my report.

Again, I have never even talked to this company prior to seeing this show up on my credit report. I DID NOT talk to them about a security system nor did I provide them my social security number. I have not spoken to any security company at all so either they stole my number from somewhere and are testing it out, or they have a customer that is using my information illegally and they don't intend to stop it.

B&D Security is fully aware of the situation and refuse to do anything about it. After numerous calls and emails, nothing has been done. The employees lie and say they have no record of me and cannot do anything about it even though they submitted my information to the credit reporting company. I need a deletion letter for the credit reporting company stating that I have no business with them and the credit pull was an error. They say they will have someone call me back to get that for me and they never do.

I have been trying to correct this error since August. It seems apparent that they are involved in the identity theft since they lie and won't provide a simple letter to fix it. I have since received calls from people stating that B&D has fraudulent business practices and urging me to contact the District Attorney. So who exactly is warning me about B&D? Their own employees? Brinks employees?

Desired Outcome

I want an immediate correction to my credit report. I want a letter of deletion sent to me as well as the credit reporting company stating that B&D did not have my authorization to run my credit report and that I have never requested B&D to run my credit report nor have I requested their services. I want the inquiry removed from my credit report.

it has been three years since B AND D sold us the bad system and cameras that have never worked we have made several attempts toget them to come out to fix the awful job that their tech *** INSTALLED and was suppose to come out to fix the wiring that is done so bad that I cant even pay another company to fix it this company refuses to fix the wiring job the rest of the system we have just accepted the fact that this company is getting away with swindling an elderly lady this company seen that fron the start that I was an easy target and they wasted no time since I was calling and calling trying to get to taslk to someone they sold my account to another company and now they feel like they should not be responsible for thir mess but I wont be taken for a ride not with out a fight im on a fixed income and need my money I saved for a long time to pay for this and to fit in in the budget for the 3 years they asked me too but they will not fix their mess unless I pay more

This customer was installed 2 1/2 years ago. This is not our customer to service as Brinks Home Security bills and services this customer. We installed the system to this customer with no initial complaints, nor there after. Since then we have one record of a call to our office 6 days ago. The Cuatomer was advised to contact Brinks Home Security to open a service ticket. The customer then disconnected the call.

I have been calling since the instal date the only problem was the sensor in the living room we were told to call monitronics they fixed it and the cameras they would not touch I have called I talks to some man who would NOT identify himself and told me to call *** the man that was sent By (B and D )to install the cameras so I called him and he told me to call you I got the back and forth run around for the entire 2+ years I Only expect them to come and do the job right and get the cameras working and installed professionally look at the pictures would you want your home looking like this i'm going to include what text I have with me (***)to show I have been texting had my brother not been killed around christmas last year I would have not lost the messages on
my last phone that I smashed when o got the call i'd have all the messages to show the messages for the whole 2+ years

I told him it is $750,00 he said ok 3/29@11:32 @X:XX X:XX change the story and said that I have to cancel it myself and I need to get the invoice from my old co first before they can pay it off I told him that now I am paying for two alarm bills and that if he had not lie to me in the first place I would not did this I also stated that Iam a senior citizen living on a fix income and they should not be scaming me with a lot of lies I told him to cancel the contract to and that I was thinking brinks was good but not now they might not be monitoring the house and I want it out 4/1@9:49,3:19 they said if I try to get out of the contract it would cost over $1400 because that was how much the alarm is I told he no because he lied about the whole thing and that they use some of my equipment that was here already at my house I said I can not afford to pay $80.00 a month for 2 alarms on my house two different companies that this making my blood pressure to go up Then he said to me to cancel it and get the total pay off and send the other company a letter and then B&D will pay it off and the can not mess up my credit because it take 3months to do that I said no I am not going to do that and I am willing to pay some but not that much to get out of this contract because I do not want any problems and do not want to have any thing to do with B&D security or brinks any more. Still no call from the owner are the manager

B&d have been saying that they were going to pay my other alarm company since March 5, 2019 but they have not done that so I want to keep my old company and I do not want to have any business with B&D I have been paying both companies because B&D have not paid them but I will not trust them to protect my home at all due to the fact that they constantly lie to me since March I don't want to do business with them anymore I don't feel that I need to pay them the whole amount since I tried to cancel this since March in which they kept lying to me and kept changing the story now they're telling you the same thing I don't want to do business with this company They making me have high blood pressure

The business have not paid me anything and still have not tried to contact me all B&D security *** do is lie he does not even need a license in the state of California for security all he does is lie that company has not paid me anything and I paid them the thousand dollars this been going on over a year he has not paid me anything His employee Mark and that company all they do is lie and cheat senior citizen it's a rip off. And yes I would like to see the receipt that they paid me because all that not True they do not tell the truth

This business broke a piece of our HVAC while attempting to install a system. They agreed in writing to cover the cost of the repairs and have not.
At the end of 2018 B&D Security came to our office to attempt to install a Nest thermostat system. The technician had no idea what he was doing and in doing so broke our HVAC system. *** (our B&D Security rep) agreed verbally and in writing that they would cover the cost of the repairs by *** Heating and Cooling for $900.00, Invoice ***. The invoice has now been outstanding for 85 days. I have spoken to B&D Security and *** on a number of occasions and each time they agree to paying the invoice. However, I am still getting calls from *** that the invoice is outstanding and has not been paid. Due to this and various other issues we cancelled our service with B&D Security in February 2019.

Desired Outcome

We are asking B&D Security to honor their verbal and written commitment to pay for the repairs that were needed due to the issues they caused by installing faulty equipment.

I have written and verbal agreement that this cost would be covered 10 months ago. It is not our problem that they now have decided it is too expensive. That was the cost to repair the damage and they agreed to cover the repair.

They have not tried to offer a solution, negotiate, or take any action. They simply ignore the issue.

This issue has been resolved. We paid the HVAC company $900 and this is no longer and issue.

I was scammed by This company. They sent a person to my home who led me to believe that he was with my alarm company and I was told that the alarm equipment was being updated. then he told me that they were no longer with Safe Home security who was monitoring my home for 3 years and apparently I had a contract with I found this out latter. This person told me a bunch of negative things about Safe Home Security, Then said that they switched the monitoring to Brinks security to monitor my home. It took me a month or more to get to the truth. I found paperwork from 3 years ago that identified my monitoring company, which is Safe Home security. I was suddenly being billed by both companies. I am a kidney dialysis patient so I'm not very quick with things anymore. This person from B&D took the other company's equipment with Him his name is *** that's the name he gave me. I talked to Safe Home security and they sent someone who installed their equipment and left B&D's equipment for them with me. When I called Brinks to stop monitoring me, They said that B&D told them to monitor me and I would have to talk with them. When I called B&D they said I had a contract with them and If I wanted Out I would have to pay to buy out my contract. I stopped payment thru my bank and now i'm getting calls from Brinks who apparently collects for B&D. Wen I tried to talk to B&D a couple times and said I would get a lawyer. This woman said Go ahead I have since found out that some companies find out who has home alarms and if you are a senior citizen I live in a senior mobile home park. I still don't know how anyone found I have an alarm system I never called anyone , I needed no service. they say that they are updating your alarm system and put you on another company for monitoring, you end up being charged by two companies. this is a scam going around presently. This happened sometime in September as best I can recall. it took me this long to get all this data together. They told me the company was B&B.

Billing Adjustment I don't want to be billed for no service from Brinks. I want them to leave me alone. Their calls and Letters from Brinks billing me and adding other charges such as returned check fees. Someone I had talked to at Brinks said that this would affect my credit report. I live on Social security and can barely afford food and medicine after paying the rent and utilities.I want B&D to leave me alone and stop trying to collect from me. I'm not using their equipment or their service thru Brinks.

This customer had no cameras on her contract. The cameras were provided to them as an incentive for them to purchase the alarm service. Which is was the customer received. Numerous attempts were made to collect the debt. The customer clearly knew there was a contract. All accounts have a resurvey done, wherein the call is recorded and the customer has to be in agreement with the terms and conditions of the contract. If there are any issues, the account does not get funded. Therefore, we know the customer passed *** and the account was good. We continued to send the customer letters, make calls in regards to their past due amount without any solution. Therefore, we sent the account to collections. Customer will have to contact Hillcrest to pay the amount due. We will not and can not cancel out this binding contract.

This company ran a hard inquiry on my credit without my knowledge or consent
On 09/26 a representative of this company showed up at my house to ask about placing a "new sign" for their security system as a way to promote new updated security system. I did not have time to speak to him and said he could come back at a later time, he replied "I have another appointment at 6:00 o'clock, and I only have a few systems left on promotion. Can I save your information in my phone and I will call you back after the appointment to see if you have some time then". I provided contact information for a future follow up.Shortly after he left, I received an email from credit Karma that a hard inquiry was placed on my credit. This hard inquiry was made without my knowledge or consent.

I want this hard inquiry removed from my report and would like this companies practices investigated in an attempt to protect other unknowing consumers

Customer was advised that we do not see her information in our database. As a courtesy, I have asked customer to provide the last 4 of her social, her date of birth, Name, address, city, state & zip and we will send her a letter of deletion that she *** provide to the credit reporting agencies or she can dispute the inquiry with the credit agencies and upon notification we can let them know to delete the inquiry. Customer refused, but at B&D we were not able to find her information. Any customer who does not qualify for our service, after 24 hrs. the information is automatically deleted for security purposes. Customer has been advised but she refused.

Have a five Year Contract with the company with a FIX Rate at $34.95, in two years the price went up twice and is now at $39.95.
Business broke the contract by raising the Fix Rate price from 34.95 to $39.99. Contract states

"We at B&D Security confirm that the monthly monitoring service at *** will stay at a fixed rate of $34.95 for the entire term of the agreement.

the contract states per section 3. Service Fees and Term of Agreement that the - The Company *** increas teh total monthly fees at any time after the first twelve months. the price was fixed for 12 months. As well, customer can call in to BRINKS and dispute the monthly increase. This is a BRINKS account as B&D sold it to BRINKS back in *** 2017. Therefore, this account does not belong to B&D Security.

If we could give them a lower score, we would do it. We live in Fresno California and all was good with B and D Security until the install. The installer had no clue what he was doing, from putting the main panel up to installing the cameras. The new panel was wider than our old one and I had to chisel the molding to make it fit (he did not have the tools). Setting up the sensors was also screwed up as he put all the sensors on STAY AT HOME which included the motion and glass break sensors. We were not able to turn it on that night due to this. He also set all of the sensors to delay and that should have only been set that way for the front door. We had 4 cameras installed and instead of feeding wire inside the walls, he drilled holes straight through and we now have holes on the inside of the house with wire hanging down the wall. I have tried to get this resolved with B and D and it turns out that the installer for our area is the only installer. The girls at B and D were extremely rude. When I called Brinks to fix issues, I was told by one of their techs not to use the same installer from B and D, because he didn't know what he was doing. Beware of B and D security!!!! Beware! Beware! Beware!

promotion included doorbell w/camera. camera was installed but didn't work. hard inquiry on credit report. wont let us cancel contract.
Agent contacted us and wrote a delivery receipt for equipment to be installed. installation date ***.doorbell with camera did not work. came back on *** and still did not work.advised needed to order a new one and they would contact us to install when comes in.business never contacted us to let us know it came in.on *** my credit was run with a hard inquiry,company never told us that would happen.I contacted company to find out when our camera would be in and was told by the end of the week someone would call to schedule a date for install.no call returned.called on *** left message for *** so we can see if we can get out of contract due to company not fulfilling the install.no return call.called *** spoke w/male saying phone service was not working someone would call us.no return call.called company again and spoke with women who said we refused installed,that she had conversation recorded.never told conversation was being recorded at the time.I stated I didn't want to schedule for someone to come out because the way the business has been handling things.she said the contact only has 3 days to cancel and that our paperwork didn't list the camera(we have paperwork showing camera w/doorbell to be installed).She kept stating we are under contract and we refused to schedule install for new camera and that the account would go to collections.I believe the company knows what they are doing regarding the 3 days for cancelling service. Customer should not have to keep calling to see when the equipment is coming in. We went with this company specifically for the camera and doorbell to use like the product Ring. Agent who sold us this knew that from the beginning. We should not have to be tied to a contract when the company hasn't fulfilled their end of the install. They are subcontracted with *** and practicing poorly has a business to sign customers up and hold them to a contract.

I would like to be let out of the contract with no repercussions. Company didn't follow through with their calls to let us know when they received a new camera in order to schedule service. Company never advised a hard inquiry would be placed on credit report(company did give us credit for one month due to them not telling us about credit report). Company seems to use the 3 day to cancel as a crutch or threat. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that I would be told the same thing, that it was past the 3 days and it would go to collections. I called the company Brinks who subcontracts with B and D Alarm, and they were embarrassed about the practice I advised them about. I told Brinks that B and D Alarm is making Brinks look bad.

The customer's alarm service is working. Customer has an open service ticket for service on the ring doorbell, which we are trying to service. The customer also is pending a credit for a refund of 3 months that were given as a courtesy. BRINKS conducts a survey prior to any account being funded. This call is recorded by BRINKS for quality of service. In this call there are several questions to ensure that the customer clearly understands the contract terms and conditions. If at any time, the consumer is unsatisfied or has questions in regards to the account terms or conditions, the call stops and the account is not funded. In this case, Mrs. Ortiz passed the survey and the account was funded. All customers are given the opportunity to read their contracts, and a copy is sent to the particular emails. Therefore, the customer has the right and the responsibility to read the entirety of their contract. To clarify, the customer has 2 surveys. The initial survey conducted by the office, which is not recorded, and the second survey that comes directly from BRINKS/Dallas.

Our issue is with B & D. And I dont know what they are talking about as far as a survey. The credit was per B & D reference in their text message saying for our inconvience they have caused. We still are waiting for the skybell doorbell to be fixed. We had an appointment today XX-XX-XX between 8-12 and still no one showed even from another company *** scheduled because B & D had no techs to service it.

The service was scheduled by us as we asked BRINKS to send a tech on our behalf. Customer has to understand that the contract is with B&D Security. *** simply monitors the account and collects monthly payments on B&D behalf. Account was serviced.
