Auto Check is Useless
Auto check is useless in determining the true history of a vehicle. While shopping for a used car the dealership provided me with a Auto Check report which indicated that the car did not have any history of damage which I came to find out was not true. After purchasing the car I purchased a Carfax report which showed that the car had prior damage and a insurance claim was paid. If Auto check can not pick up these types of reports on the vehicle history it has no useful purpose.

We have reviewed the customer’s complaint and have been in communication with the client both via phone and emailThe number of owners for the vehicle in question was researched and verified on our end as one owner, but the customer continues to dispute that [redacted] is reporting as twoThe customer was advised that ownership is determined by registered title owners, this information would only come from the DMVExperian cannot speak for [redacted] as to what their logic or business rules are which would code this vehicle as a two owner in their system Our research has confirmed that all titles issued with the same title # and last name within the vehicle's historyThe state of Florida has this vehicle listed as one owner vehicleIn turn, Experian AutoCheck is reflecting this vehicle as a one owner per the state data history Florida DMV data can be obtained online at [redacted] The customer was provided this link along with a PDF print out of the result for his vehicle which shows as one owner The customer was issued a refund of $for the AutoCheck report he purchased through [redacted] as a courtesy on 4/20/ Experian cannot refund the [redacted] report transaction as we are a separate companyThe customer will need to contact [redacted] directly for refund as well as further dispute of the ownership data they are reporting We will require documentation from the Florida DMV which would indicate that the vehicle has had two separate titled owners for further review and will advise of next steps accordingly

We have reviewed A [redacted] concerns regarding a Salvage Title Brand reported by the State of Georgia, which was reflected on the purchased AutoCheck Vehicle History ReportOn March 13, 2017, we confirmed the aforementioned Title Brand was reported in errorAs a result, the Title Brand was removed and an email was sent to the Consumer to advise of the correction

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regards, [redacted] Response: The company response is not only not helping, but indicates further problems with their methods of advertisingI had thought that the company I was trying to do business with was called AutoCheck, and now I see that it is Experian!! This makes it deceptiveThis is further ethical problem None the less, the company describes itself, in regards to the advertisement, and states that it does not advertiseNext it disagrees with its own statement, and says that it "advertises a free ..." Experian / AutoCheck should decide if it does or does not advertise It is being dishonestIt says that it does advertise a "free VIN Check which will provide information decoded from the VIN, as well as a record count.,,, "I agree that, yes, Experian / AutoCheck do advertise for this "free VIN Check..." and that it promises to provide informationAnd it indicates that it is a serviceBut it fails to provide any information, and certainly not what it promised to attract a consumer to go to its site and plug in personal informationOnly then does one see that there will be a chargeToday it has posted: [redacted] Know the History.Get a Free VIN Check. Was the car reported in an accident or damaged in a flood? Search Autocheck's extensive vehicle database to find out now.-----This notice did not self-identify as an adIt seemed like one more [redacted] serviceIt asks for the VIN of your carBut then it does not give the information it promisesIt does not let you "know the history", it does not tell you if the car was "reported in an accident or damaged in a flood."On this first page of the ***, it does not say you have to pay for the informationTherefore, this was and deceptive advertisingThis company should stop using false, misleading and deceptive advertising to draw people to pay for services which are presented as "Free"

I paid $to run reports I am unable to log into the site with my user name and password to run reports I have chatted with customer service, sent emails, called times (times a recording came on saying to call back later) and the last call was with a representative named [redacted] who was very rude and did not assist me

According to our records, we show that a customer service representative assisted the consumer with updating the vehicle history report for their vehicle The report was updated on 3/30/and the consumer was notified via emailFor further questions, the consumer can contact support directly at M-F 8am - 7pm cst at [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. In our case, the erroneous information was finally removed However, their failure to remove it in a timely manner and unwillingness to let us know which police department had the alleged (now confirmed erroneous) police report is unacceptable for consumers They do not have the right to post information about a consumer's vehicle but not provide the consumer with the "source" of their information They indicated that they could not violate the privacy of their "source." If somebody has provided information about the condition of my vehicle it affects the value of my vehicle The representative tried to hide behind the fact that it was not their information and the accuracy is the responsibility of the source of the information That is absolutely false They are providing a "service" that people pay for that is supposed to accurately state the condition of vehicles based on their accident and repair history Since they are providing the "service" and being paid for that "service" they are legally responsible for the accuracy of the information and they must remove inaccurate information promptly If I had not continued to push them to remove the information, their error would have cost me $in the lease deal that I obtained The "privacy" of a police department is not guaranteed It is a public institution and if they have records of an accident involving the vehicle I own, I am allowed to see that information Fix your process for timely resolution of disputes 3-business days is not acceptable in some cases Regards, [redacted]

We have reviewed [redacted] support case and apologize for any inconveniences causedWe will continue to work internally with the agent to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved from all our customersAnother agent assisted [redacted] on 3/4/and was able to successfully locate her subscription and updated her login information which was entered in error at time of purchaseThe agent also extended her subscription for an additional days at that time to make up for the time the consumer lost while being locked out [redacted] has since been able to access her AutoCheck subscription successfully, so we have reached out to her via email to ensure that she has not run into any further issues since speaking with our agent on the 4th and submitting this complaint

I contacted the AutoCheck team because I would like to correct (two) major errors on my vehicle’s AutoCheck report This email contains important attachments which support making immediate corrections Please note that the dates of both erroneous reportings are just days apart VIN: [redacted] VEHICLE DATA: [redacted] ERROR # 1: On 9/09/2014, an accident was reported in [redacted] Since the date I purchased this car in 2008, I never drove the car into the state of [redacted] Not only have I never driven this vehicle in [redacted] , I have never loaned my vehicle to anyone going to [redacted] or passing through the state My [redacted] report, which has been sent to AutoCheck, also does not show this major errorI have also had a car appraiser evaluate my vehicle, whose report yielded no accident traces This has also been sent to AutoCheck I believe this is a misreporting because it is likely related to Error # I will explain how

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I think it is hilarious that not only did your company not do ANYTHING to help this situation, not call me to help with my loss of money, not give anything but excuses, not return any of my calls, or come close to rectifying the situation The only effort you made was to let me cancel without a day notice What a fantastic response to this problem that cost me thousands of dollars based on your incomplete and shoddy Autocheck report In fact, your response was just to take your previous response and add the words "As previously stated" to the front of it and send it again I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I am with a company that we had for many years with two locations and spent thousands of dollars with We will gladly take our loss, without your help or assistance, and give our money to [redacted] for the next years We will also tell anyone we come in contact with in the auto business that we recommend to not use Autocheck and to move to [redacted] for more reliable auto reports Your company has certainly failed at customer service and integrity of backing up your product on this one There were so many opportunities along the way to have a different outcome that were botched by your company That is why I am glad that we have the Revdex.com to report this type of business activity Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Experian claims no responsibility claiming their data supplier made the errorThe important point is that Experian accepted this data and published it as their ownBy publishing this data they essentially reduced the value of my vehicle by $ Experiam's data supplier did not send this data to the car dealer, Experian didHow can Experian absolve them selves based on supplier error ? Experians' error resulted in an expenditure of $and to hours of labor to resolve the problemWhen I contacted Experians' agent with the information that the South Carolina DMV agent gave me on the phone, Experian should have requested the officers report on their own and resolved the problem I'm not asking for a "McDonalds hot coffee lawsuit settlement" just a reimbursement of the $expenditure required to rectify Experians errorExperians agent has a copy of the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles letter, showing "receipt of fees Paid' dated 1/6/in their file Regards, [redacted] ***

AutoCheck receives information as is from various sourcesWe are not informed of any discrepancies upon receipt of the data until it is disputed by an individual or business entityIf the data is deemed inaccurate, it is removedHowever, that is contingent upon receiving supporting evidence from our data sources and contactsIn this case, we were able to confirm with the Michigan State Police that the accident was incorrectly recorded in their database and tied to [redacted] 's VIN # in errorBased on this information, we deleted the accident from the Vehicle History Report and sent [redacted] an email on September 26, 2016, to confirm this correction

We have reviewed [redacted] complaint and must respectfully decline her request for $Experian Automotive, AutoCheck is a repository for data and we display information as reported by proprietary sourcesWhen data is disputed we work with our reporting sources for verificationInquiries are answered during business hours in the order in which they are received, and due volume and varying research requirements resolution times may vary [redacted] case [redacted] was managed within business daysThe reporting source responded with their verification and the report was updated at that timeIt is unfortunate that [redacted] had to make the decision to sell her vehicle before our research was completed, but the loss is not the result of any wrong doing by Experian

We have researched Ms [redacted] concerns regarding the integrity of the data displayed on the Vehicle History Report purchased on September 23, We are committed to making information available to those who access our product as soon as possible (i.eas soon as it is reported to us) and do believe that vehicle history reports are an integral part of the pre-owned vehicle purchase processHowever, this should only be one step of the processIn addition to purchasing a vehicle history report, we encourage every pre-owned vehicle shopper to physically inspect the vehicle whenever possible and to have a licensed mechanic inspect the vehicle to ensure the best and safest vehicle choice is madeAutoCheck reports on accident damage when and if that information is provided to usTherefore, we may not provide information on every accident in which a vehicle may have been involvedAs a respository for data, information is reported on a continual basis as it becomes availableThis data may be more current or historically dated but is listed to the report as it is receivedIn this case, we have not received data from any of our sources that indicates this vehicle has been damaged or involved in a collisionSince the Vehicle History Report was purchased more than six months ago, a refund can no longer issued back to the originating payment sourceHowever, I have provided a Coupon Code below, which is good for one free, single AutoCheck Vehicle History ReportCoupon Code: [redacted] This Coupon Code may be redeemed by contacting us at: Experian Automotive Customer Support 1-888-409-Monday through Friday, from a.mto p.mCentral Time
