Went to Wards Corner store to have my 6 year warranty battery replaced under warranty. Young man that helped me could not get reading on test equipment because the battery had gone dead again. Went in store and he said he was going home. Left me standing there stranded.I asked another lady to help me and she said the battery was under warranty but it was not on my file under my phone number. In fact there info was so screwed up they didn't even have my 2004 Mercury Sable on file. They had my 1993 F150 and a Mercury Marquis. I never owned one in my life! So because the battery wasn't under my previous purchases they would not honor the warranty. I had to purchase a new 2 year warranty battery for *** I asked if they could put it in since I was a disabled person. They said NO! Its raining!I asked to speak to the manager and he said NO! He said my car was dangerous because the hood lifters were weak and you had to hold the hood up. Then he said if I purchased them and installed them myself then he would install the battery. I said I will hold the hood. He said NO! So I said I would buy a socket set and do it myself then he offered to loan me the tools. I replaced the battery in 10 minutes holding the hood with my head. They could have come out and at least held the hood. But NO. When I purchased the 6 year battery at the Little Creek store they did not put the purchase under my Sable. They never entered it either by accident or on purpose. There record keeping is a joke and then they use it against you to screw you out of your warranty. I have seen other automotive places do the same thing on life time warranty products. This is no way to do business. I was left stranded with a battery under warranty and a staff of employees more concerned about smoking cigarettes than helping customers. I have owned my Sable for 8 years and 90 percent of all my parts for it were purchases at Auto Zone but they conveniently have no record of it. What a rip off and what a joke of a company.

Desired Outcome

Refund I want the cost of my warranty battery applied to this purchase and a refund of that money. I want an apology from this company for treating a customer like they have the plaque.Some one needs to be fired.

I was contacted by the store manager, Mr. He was very professional and apologized that the situation happened. Then without me asking he re-funded the cost of the new battery and told me to keep it. He made sure the warranty was in force also. I hope the next time I go there things will be better. Thank you Mr. and Auto Zone.
