Arnold Chevrolet L.L.C. Reviews (1)

I went to the dealership to look to buy a Chevy Suburban. I told the salesman that I wanted a bench seat in the second row, heavy duty trailering package, and a rear view camera. He said that he had located one in NJ and I agreed o pay to have it brought here. I test drove one right after that and this car had a rear view camera in it. I asked my salesman if this would be the same camera that would be installed in my car and he said, "yes". When I got home, I went on the website and found my car and saw that the window sticker did have the rear view camera and the bench seat that I wanted but did not list the heavy duty trailering package so I called my salesman. He said he checked the factory invoice and that it was in the vehicle. On 02/**/**, I went and picked up my new vehicle. The salesman came out and showed me my new car and how to work the options. It was snowing out so I quickly left and drove home. When I arrived home I put my car in reverse to test my rear view camera and it didn't work. I immediately called my salesman to find out if there was a button to push to activate the camera-he checked and said the car did't have one. I explained that this was one of the features I had requested and that my window sticker stated that the car had one. He said he would speak to the manager and that he would call me the next day. The next day he called and said that the manager was going to call Chevy and find out what he could do. They called me back again and said that they were going to be bringing someone in to install the factory camera and that once the part comes in they will find out when the representative would be able to come and install. I was called and asked to bring in my vehicle and I dropped the car off on 3/**/** at night so they would have the car the next day to install the camera. On 03/**/**, I went and picked up my vehicle and when I saw the camera that they installed, I told them that it was unacceptable. It was an after market camera that they attached to my license plate. This is not the camera that comes with the vehicle or one that appears to belong to this kind of truck. I had my kids with me so I left and said I would call them when I got home because I was not accepting this camera. When I got home, I opened the rear hatch of the truck and when I shut it, the camera and my license plate fell off the back of the truck. The wire stopped it from falling onto the ground. I called the dealership again and said this is why I don't want this camera-it's not the right one for this vehicle. I than asked the manager for the name of his sales rep and he told me he didn't know their name-which is not the truth, they meet once a month at least-He gave me a number to call, which was the GM Customer Complaint number. I spoke to ** and he said that a District Specialist would be in touch with me. I received a call from a man named, [redacted],who said he would look into the problem. When he called me back, he stated that the factory invoice didn't list the rear view camera. I said that I understand that BUT the window sticker on the car states that the car has one and the Vin# on the car matches the window sticker. I bought this car based on the window sticker, not what the factory inventory states. He said that the sticker was put on my car in error and I said well, thats not my error, it is yours and you must stand by the sticker. I than asked to speak to a supervisor. I received a call from a woman named, [redacted], and she said she needed time to look into it-She said that it was an error and that the camera that was installed isn't a GM product but one from an outside company that they use. I told her that this was not acceptable. The camera wouldn't be warranted and the camera looks like crap attached to the license plate instead of being mounted underneath with just the eye showing, just like the one that I test drove. I said that I spent over $50,000 for a truck and I am not settling for this crappy camera on the back of my truck. It looks terrible and can easily be removed from the car. I feel that if the window sticker is on that car, than the contents listed should be in the car. I also asked for the heavy duty trailering package and that wasn't listed on the window sticker but was told it was in the car-Do I believe them on this also? This makes me wonder how many other people have been duped into believing that they had items installed, according to the window sticker, but isn't really in their vehicle. I feel that GM should be held responsible for this and that if they can't install the same type of camera that I was expecting, than they need to give me a vehicle that matches what I purchased. I have been buying vehicles for over 20 years and I have never purchased a car by asking for the factory listing, I have always based my purchases on what the window sticker has listed.
