All Star Pro Painters Reviews (%countItem)

My house painting job started failing (peeling and bubbling) after only 1 year. I had paid extra for the recommended two coats of the most expensive and durable "***" paint. In his quote email, Kevin said it would last 11-14 years. Their warranty for just basic paint service is 4 years. It appears to me the paint crew did not use primer on the bare wood surfaces and so the paint is not adhering properly.

I have repeatedly emailed and called Kevin at All Star but did not receive a reply.

I am sad to say that soon after the job was completed I registered a glowing recommendation for All Star Painters on this Revdex.com web site. This was based on based on prompt and (seemingly) professional service at the time of the paint job.

I gave each person on the paint crew a generous tip and paid cash for the paint job in order to save All Star the cost of credit card service fee.

All Star Pro Painters Response • May 02, 2018

This is in response to the complaint received from a former customer. I would like to start with that I did not receive any notification in writing. It states in our Warranty that the customer must contact us in writing. So I am unaware of the customer saying they contacted us before hand. All Star Pro Painters did not receive any letters from the customers regarding their concerns. I found out about this weeks later in an email from the Revdex.com just recently and contacted them for the next step in their process as we have an A+ rating and never received a complaint.

All Star Pro Painters only used *** on the sills of the windows as they were in poor condition and this is a more durable product. As for the prep work, we always do the best work we can on any house we work on. It was recommended that there were some wood on the windows and some areas of the siding that should be replaced (and that was an option on the contract), but the customer decided against it. I was on job site every day during the prep work and it was not skipped, missed or poorly done. The customer as mentioned above was extremely happy with the work that was completed and even gave us a good review on the Revdex.com.All Star Pro Painters will contract the customer in a timely manner to check on the areas of concern. The contract does not state anything about 11-14 years on it. Our Warranty does exclude certain things. Each customer is given a copy of the warranty and the address to send the concerns are on the page as well.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

The response is not factual:

COMMUNICATION: All of my written correspondence with All Star has been by email including many emails before the job was contracted as well as after. I can provide the multiple complaint emails I sent All Star prior to the last resort of notifying the Revdex.com. All Star completely this communication as well as my telephone messages. It is not factual that the first time they heard of this complaint was from the Revdex.com.
CONTRACT: I never actually received a signed copy of the contract from All Star. I was asked to sign it and send it in. I do still have the E-version of the contract I signed.
The contract I signed had nothing about an option to replace siding or window wood. This is not factual. None of our back and forth emails discussed this. (We discussed everything else in great detail.)
PROBLEM: All Star said they would prime any bare wood - I had that on the window areas. The paint that is peeling and bubbling has no primer underneath. Paint specialist I have talked to say failure to apply primer to bare wood results in the failure problems I am experiencing. I have an email from Kevin that says two coats of *** paint on the window sills would last 11-14 years. I don't accept it starting to fail after just one year.
Kevin was not on the job every day (if ever) while the work was being done. I was here while the crew was working. I was only absent a short time each day to go out and buy take-out lunch for the crew.
I WAS extremely happy with the work at the time it was completed and I did submit a favorable report to the Revdex.com. Unfortunately, while the initial appearance was very good, the paint job started to fail after just one year.

Regards
