We are formally responding to a complaint submitted to your organization on February 9, 2016, by [redacted] of [redacted], Gettysburg, PA (case ID [redacted]).
We have determined that [redacted] did not comply with our deposit and referral...

policy (copy included) that requires a security deposit of all new members who do not pass a basic credit check. This check will determine the amount, if any, of a security deposit.On Jan. 25, [redacted] was told she needed to pay a $25 membership fee, a $30 service connection fee and a $250 security deposit before service could be established. The security deposit is required if a “soft credit check indicates a low credit score.[redacted] paid the membership and service connection fees online but refused to pay the security deposit. She was offered the chance to pay the deposit over a period of five weeks which she refused. She was also offered the chance to add her boyfriend, [redacted], to the account. If a check to his credit came back good, the security deposit would be waived. She indicated that she would have [redacted] give the cooperative his personal information so he could be added to the account.
On Feb. 4, a member services representative called [redacted] and left a message indicating that the cooperative still did not have the information needed to add [redacted] to the account. A request for [redacted] to provide this information by Feb. 8 was made at that time. On Feb. 9, a 48-hour notice was left at the property indicating [redacted] had to pay the security deposit or service would be curtailed. This notice added an additional $50 fee to her account.
The charges to date have included the following:
o Membership fee (required of all members): $25o New connection fee (required of all members): $30o Security deposit: $250o 48-hour disconnect notice: $50o January electric use: $93.61
As of Feb. 23, her account has been paid in full and includes a credit of $31.39.

If there was a negative star rating they would have -5. The absolute worst company I have EVER dealt with. Customer services representatives are rude, they dont help with anything and they do not care. If you are looking at renting a place make sure you do not have to use ADAMS, you will regret it. I went to move into a place that met ed and my security deposit was $0.00. That place fell through and I moved into my current address and my security deposit with ADAMS was $475.00!!!! Why? I dont know they could not explain and they didnt have the time to explain.
