Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] There are only possible response options here -- to accept or reject Plumbing's message I definitely do not accept the latest description of our communication:> "We did not order or purchase the insert, we did not hire the mason When we returned after the insert was already ordered, it was determined it was the incorrect size We proposed returning the insert and exchanging for the correct size The customer opted to hire a mason instead That is not a fair representation of our communication Having a mason come was not a step I took in spite of Plumbing's recommendation, but a step made =at= ***'s recommendation -- actually a repeated recommendation When Plumbing itself discovered that the insert did not fit the fireplace, they mentioned the possibility of returning/exchanging the insert for a different size, and I explained that it was not possible to return the insert, as it had been special ordered using the exact measurements supplied by [redacted] , trusting Plumbing's professionalism and expertise to assess the fireplace shape & size that they would be installing into Since that one initial mention of returning/exchanging the insert, in all our discussions, by phone and e-mail (the e-mails can be furnished, if needed), Plumbing has suggested =only= the option of using a mason I had asked [redacted] if it would work well to build out the frame surrounding the fireplace, but he said it wouldn't, and instead suggested that I call a particular mason Plumbing advised me that any changes in the brickwork could make structural problems/dangers, and needed to be assessed by a mason Not being a mason and learning that not consulting one could be dangerous in this way, there was no responsible option other than that proposed by Plumbing -- using a mason I called the first mason that [redacted] suggested, but that mason said he didn't do that type of work So I told [redacted] this, and he then suggested another mason This was not a step I took in spite of Plumbing's recommendation, but a step made at [redacted] ' recommendation -- actually a repeated recommendation, after the first mason who he recommended didn't work out I don't really understand who I should have relied on for these measurements, besides the people installing it I would have thought that they, knowing their own methods and procedures, and claiming to frequently do this work, would be the accurate authority on what dimensions of insert to order for them to install Having relied on Plumbing for these measurements, which turned out to be incorrect, I had no option other than to use the insert that I was now stuck with > "There is a solution here, it is to return the deposit for the work, no questions asked and part as friends." I don't really understand what this means Regards, [redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/08/15) */
This customer was quoted the as stated when the orignal replacement unit was damaged at the wharehouse all that was available was more expensive before it was ordered we informed customer at that time of price difference
He stated to
go ahead at that time also that a shipping fee was included when the unit arrived customer was notified of final cost total including install asked for a refund of which he will receive minus shipping and 15% restocking fee
This was well below industry standard cost due to the fact that we were trying to help him outHe will be refunded the money and should have called us as for his problem but instead has tried to skirt proper channels also the times stated in complaint were at the customers choice not ours
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2016/08/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept Hometech's response because they are flat out lying about informing me "up front" about shipping charges or a 15% restocking feeI would have never given him $in cash if he had honestly disclosed that info as he claims he didLiar!
Why should I be out $for almost a month now and have nothing to show for itEspecially as hot as it has beenAnd now Hometech is trying to penalize me out of spite because I reported him to the Revdex.com for his shoddy business practicesAccusing me of "tried to skirt proper channels." What a joke (only it isn't funny)!
Having to eat the shipping and 15% restocking fee might cause him to communicate a little more clearly in the future (although I highly doubt it)Hometech should just take responsibility for their mistakes and stop lyingI just want the Revdex.com to help me get back my "full $950" given to Hometech HVAC
Final Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2016/08/16) */
My tickets show parts and equipment are upfront and non refundableI am willing to work with the consumer on a refund but they should also understand I am out time and money to and I am charged the same shipping and restocking fee
I refuse to argue with customerand be called a
( liar etc.) and he was informed of the cost involved
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2016/08/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not and will not accept Hometech's response until they give me my full $depositI understand Hometech may be out time and money for shipping and restockingHowever, had they honestly communicated those expenses to me when they said they did, that wouldn't be the caseSo, that's not my faultThere is no argument here, you did notHowever when you did, I text you on 8/11/@ 5:26pm and said "just please refund my $950" and you text me back @ 5:29pm and said, "Ok, will get it in progress take at least two weeks to get it completed will take me that long to get the money back from them on the unit."
Hometech didn't then or any other time "ever" mention "shipping charges or a 15% restocking fee" Now in an attempt to void their initial verbal agreement, Hometech is now trying to invoke their disclaimer located on the bottom of my ticket which shows the following "Labor Performed: For A/C Cond unit, change out, Ton" (which was not done)7/23/Deposit: $"Estimates are for labor only, material additionalWe will not be responsible for loss or damage caused by fire, theft, testing, or any other causes beyond our control."
Should the Revdex.com interpret your disclaimer to mean you can deduct "shipping charges and a 15% restocking fee" I still stand on everything I have reportedYou lied to my face when you told me that you could replace and install my A/C unit for around $The understanding you left me with that day was, that your quote was all inclusiveI even told you all I had was $and I couldn't afford anymore then thatThe only other mention of price during this fiasco was when you ordered the more expensive unitI authorized you to order it assuming it wouldn't be more than the $you knew I had
You are a liar and you never informed of the cost involved other then the $I gave you (until you jacked up the price to $1450)If you would have told me the A/C unit was going to be $when you ordered it I would never have authorized it (but you didn't)

This project was looked at two years agoA price was given to Mr*** on connecting a customer supplied fire place insert He was purchasing the insert and having itI measured the fire box of the existing system which was observed and noted my Mr*** The information delivered
and requested for the fireplace insert company was for the firebox dimensions, which is what was provided The issue is the insert which was ordered and delivered was too large for the opening (not the measurements).Mr*** wanted to keep the insert and have it trimmed outHe had no sucess finding anyone to do this so he reached back out to us and we called a local contract in hopes to help find a solution, we contacted *** Enterprises and they gave us a number of someone that did that type of workMr*** called the company directly to do the work, and it was not requested in advance for us to pay for this work The issue is fireplace insert company sent him a system too big for the opening and wants us to pay half for the masonry work We were contracted to install a customer supplied insert

Our resolution is that we would like to return the deposit made for the proposed work

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***Mr*** writes that "The information delivered and requested for the fireplace insert company was for the firebox dimensions, which is what was provided The issue is the insert which was ordered and delivered was too large for the opening (not the measurements).""The opening" was part of the measurements, but it wasn't even actually the opening that was the problem, but rather the depth -- one of the measurements. The insert was ordered based on the measurements Mr*** gave. When delivered, the insert did not fit those measurements -- specifically the depth. The masonry work had to be done only because those original measurements were incorrect

The work proposed was to install the customer supplied fireplace insert.  We did not order or purchase the insert, we did not hire the mason.  When we returned after the insert was already ordered, it was determined it was the incorrect size.  We proposed returning the insert and exchanging for the correct size.  The customer opted to hire a mason instead.  There is a solution here, it is to return the deposit for the work, no questions asked and part as friends.

There are only 2 possible response options here -- to accept or reject 128 Plumbing's message.  I definitely do not accept the latest description of our communication:> "We did not order or purchase the insert, we did not hire the mason.  When we returned after the insert was already ordered, it was determined it was the incorrect size.  We proposed returning the insert and exchanging for the correct size.  The customer opted to hire a mason instead.  That is not a fair representation of our communication.  Having a mason come was not a step I took in spite of 128 Plumbing's recommendation, but a step made =at= [redacted]'s recommendation -- actually a repeated recommendation.  When 128 Plumbing itself discovered that the insert did not fit the fireplace, they mentioned the possibility of returning/exchanging the insert for a different size, and I explained that it was not possible to return the insert, as it had been special ordered using the exact measurements supplied by [redacted], trusting 128 Plumbing's professionalism and expertise to assess the fireplace shape & size that they would be installing into.   Since that one initial mention of returning/exchanging the insert, in all our discussions, by phone and e-mail (the e-mails can be furnished, if needed), 128 Plumbing has suggested =only= the option of using a mason.  I had asked [redacted] if it would work well to build out the frame surrounding the fireplace, but he said it wouldn't, and instead suggested that I call a particular mason.  128 Plumbing advised me that any changes in the brickwork could make structural problems/dangers, and needed to be assessed by a mason.  Not being a mason and learning that not consulting one could be dangerous in this way, there was no responsible option other than that proposed by 128 Plumbing -- using a mason.  I called the first mason that [redacted] suggested, but that mason said he didn't do that type of work.  So I told [redacted] this, and he then suggested another mason.  This was not a step I took in spite of 128 Plumbing's recommendation, but a step made at [redacted]' recommendation -- actually a repeated recommendation, after the first mason who he recommended didn't work out.      I don't really understand who I should have relied on for these measurements, besides the people installing it.  I would have thought that they, knowing their own methods and procedures, and claiming to frequently do this work, would be the accurate authority on what dimensions of insert to order for them to install.  Having relied on 128 Plumbing for these measurements, which turned out to be incorrect, I had no option other than to use the insert that I was now stuck with.    > "There is a solution here, it is to return the deposit for the work, no questions asked and part as friends."  I don't really understand what this means.
