A Safehouse

Review: I, [redacted] entered into a contractual agreement with [redacted] to have a side iron fence erected and the iron gate replaced. The agreement date was [redacted] and the completion date was supposed to be [redacted]. [redacted] erect 3 iron fence post on [redacted] and did not communicate that there was any delay until the agreed upon date of completion [redacted] when he shows up without the material to complete the job and stated that he had the job would not be finished that day because he had to make the gate. No delays had been communicated up to this point. It was very disappointing when he appears unprepared to finish the job. [redacted] had been given a money order for $900, half the cost of the job. I told him at that point that I needed a refund and I had contracted another company to do the job. He only agreed to give me half of the money back although he had only erected 4 fence post and nothing more. He came to my home with a check for $450 plus he removed the fence post which I feel I had paid for given he had received $450 for doing nothing. So I am out of $450 for a job that barely got started. Not only that, I deposited the return at my bank on [redacted] and the check has not cleared as of [redacted]. I am afraid that he may have stopped payment on that as well. I am a senior citizen and I fear as if this man has taken advantage of me.Desired Settlement: In short:I gave him a money order for $900He erected 4 fence post which he took with him when I informed him that I was not satisfied with his serviceHe wrote me a $450 check which I am not sure will clear my financial institutionHe got away with another $450 for doing nothingI want my hard earned money back.
