We originally contracted for new boards and railing installed on our existing deck in June 2013. We paid half down plus gave them an advance when they pleaded with us that they needed money to pay their workers and were waiting for accounts receivable to come in. We were told the job would be completed in 3 days. Work began late in June and by the end of August we still did not have use of our deck. The workmanship was terrible and miters were off, deck board lengths and post heights varied by 1 inch or more, railings were very unstable. After many, many, many attempts to work things out with A & B Exteriors and weeks going by...One of the owners came to our home to discuss the problems and he agreed to come and remove the wood - boards and railings and give us a full refund. They never came for the wood and never refunded our down payment. We contacted an attorney who also tried to recover our money from them without success. We filed against the company in small claims court and won our judgment against them on October 28,2013. However, we have been unable to find out the owners full names in order to file against them individually. Our attorney feels we will not be able to collect our judgment against the business itself. We do not understand how a business can be operating in Wisconsin without having to file their full names with the state.We are asking for any assistance you may give us in finding out the business owners names and in helping us to collect on our judgment. We are out literally thousands of dollars.
